MELO or AI?
Im ready to blow it up
If we had to choose 1 of them to trade which one should we do?
AI's aging and is a mismatch waiting to happen
Melo's a defensive liability..lacks maturity and is going down a trend to being a bust with him only focusing on the offensive end.
AI only has maybe 3-4yrs left and has little trade value
Melo will give you more in a trade and his trade value is falling.

Come on now...Melo is only 23 yrs old...and he was never said to be a defensive stud......I dont think trading him would be the brightest thing to do.....What needs to be done is defense! plan and simple...if karl cant create a scheme that his players can succeed in than he must be the one to go...also what can yall really get for a declining iverson?

a.i is my favorite player and he's still a better player than carmelo at this point but i wouldn't trade Carmelo because he is too young. Honestly i don't know what they can get for A.I. Yes he has trade value but unless you get back a Chris Paul type player this team is not going to get better. Who's out there to be traded for. I don't even think this team would win if Andre Miller came back. Denver just has to come back in the off season and try to get a better seed in the regular season so they wont have to face the number one seed. I think Denver's goal next season is to try to win the division to at least get the 4th seed.
Thats why Im easy easy like Sunday morning.

Easier said then done. Utah isn't going anywhere. Portland should be better. The Sonics and Twolves will be a bit better as well. I reall think Melo and AI will be back for one more run because I think if you trade one you are going to have to trade the other one.

easy answer.
This is why I said Melo would get more back...this is the only reason to trade Melo..for a good/great player while he's fading
While Ai will give back much to nothing with a trade
It's about which would be worth doing MORE?? Do you trade Melo now before he declines in trade value or trade AI which has 3-4yrs left but won't get you anything...I say it's a fair question
AI + Melo trade
(try to win now)
or
Melo + AI trade
(hope melo develops)

I'd say both too. People aren't understanding this thread. The Nuggets have a very important decision to make regarding Melo this offseason. Do they want to carry on with him being the franchise player, or is it time to change the direction of the team and still get good value for him. IMO, his value has been going down and it might be hard to get equal in return, so the Nuggets might just be stuck with him unless they don't care and just want him out for as much as they can get.
AI will opt out for the right situation. If not, then I just see him playing in Denver until next year's deadline because it's going to be very tough for the Nuggets to trade Iverson before next year's trading deadline. He's owed 22 million next season or some ****.

Laker fan here.. but I like alot of the players on your team..IMO...
Melo isn't ready to lead a team and may never get it ..I think that AI has stunned his growth..not on purpose but by default..of AI being A dominate player and ball handler.
I do think that AI and Nene Should be traded in a package..one that gets denver a true PG ..
I would trade AI and NEne to the Bucks for Redd and mo williams or charlie bell.
Bell
Redd
Melo
Kmart
CAmby
Would be a very deadly team ...and I would fire Karl and get PAul silas as coach ..he's old school and tough
that's just my fix

and with that lineup the Nuggets still wouldn't be a good defensive team.

How many of these types of threads are their going to be?
Anyhow, I think if one goes Iverson should. I'm starting to wish he stayed in Philly, because at least some of his teammates there played with heart and at least he seemed comfortible there. Carmelo needs to stay with the Nuggets, because that is the only organization that will put up with his half effort on any given night.

If they were going to trade Iverson, the least they could do is try to trade him to a decent team. I seen someone say Orlando. That would be a good situation. And they have some players there Denver could use in return.

Iverson is having one of his best years and is hardly declining, he may be 32 yrs old (which isn't as old as people make it out to be) but he is not declining by any means. Which is a good sign.

The only thing this thread shows is who the real AI homers are, as no fan of any team would choose to trade a 23 year old who has shown the ability to score 30 ppg on over 50% shooting, while keeping a 32 year old scorer, who has never been shown to win, without and all defense team surrounding him.
Now if someone was to say trade both I could somewhat understand that statement, but to say keep AI and trade Melo is one of the worst things any franchise could do, and anybody who gave a **** about the team long term would know better.

its in denvers best interest to hope AI opts out or restructures his contract so they can send him to Orlando. Between jj, jameer and mo, they have some young guards this team could use. and orlando could use a vet like AI at that position.
win win for both teams.
as for keeping melo.
melo is officially over-rated in my opinion. however he has more value than AI and its still possible to win with this guy in the right context. get him a top five pg who can do the thinking for him and keep the ball out his hands in situations that require heady plays and this guy is a beast.
but as a leader or the best player on the floor melo has a long way to go.
this team has problems that go beyond individual personnel. george karl should have been an option and so should camby and nene.
the role players suck in their roles and the stars arent dependable.

Time to end the AI experiment this year and let him either opt out or trade him. I'm not a Melo homer, but I want to keep a player that has more years left in him. We can't get rid of our first round pick so lets make the best of it and pick a solid PG who can be a decent starter. Then trade Camby somewhere (that one will be a toughie) for a solid 3 point shooter.
Nene - Martin - Anthony - Smith - some rookie at PG that has a pass-first mentality
Bench: Najera - Kleiza - Steven Hunter - Atkins - resign Khouba (let him play some mins) - that 3 point shooter (Camby trade)
