Playoff Format a joke
Now I don't care who is seeded where but how can you still have best of seven in the first round?!? It takes way too long, I see tons of gamnes I really don't care to watch and the underdogs have such a slim chance. I mean Philly wins two against Detroit and let's say they win Game 5 at Detroit, too. Now it's not enough to win 3 games against one of the best teams in the league?!?
And a quick question: Is the NBA planning to change back to best of 5 in the first round again?!? Thought I heard something like that...

The creation of this thread is a joke. The NBA rules as it is.
Let's see how you feel about excess or 'meaningless' postseason games (is there such a thing?) when the season's over in a month or so.
Well, if you like it how it is, fine. Don't act like others can't disagree...

The problem is the days off in between games. Some teams had 2 days off in between Game 1 and Game 2, thats ridiculous. Its so bad teams just fly back home on off days instead of staying on the road that long. The 1st round started April 19th and it won't end till May 4th if a series goes 7 games. Thats 3 weeks!

At times i would agree that best of 7 can be long...but are you serious that youre not interested in any of these series?! The only series i dont care about is the lakers/nuggets because its not even a challenge and the orlando/raptors because im not interested in either team. But watching the hawks battle the celtics and philly taking down the pistons is a lot of fun. Sure upsets are less likely in the first round now that its 7 games instead of 5 and takes a few weeks longer, but the nba wants money.

I agree that the Pistons/Sixers series is good. We have to see about the Celtics/Hawks series. All other series are already 3-1, and I don't care if they go to a sixth game or not. If you lose three out of 4 games in the first round, go home. You're done. Spurs Suns should have been great but now we already know who's winning. Who cares about Game 5 in Houston?! I don't and whoever says he is excited about such long series with marginal teams should think back a few years when the best teams got into their matchups quicker and the first round didn't take as long...

Flaming.. it was a couple of years ago that Houston was up 2-0 after having beaten Dallas at their home places.. Thanks to the format of Best of 7, we were able to witness what was an amazing series that was won by Dallas 4-3. How about the recent years Lakers/Suns matchup. I remember the Lakers once being up 3-1, and the Suns came back to win 4-3, and it was the most enjoyable series that such classic earned Christmas game recognition.

I don't want to talk about the DAL-HOU series, since HOU was clearly screwed by the refs. Actually.
Lakers/Suns was some match-up though and ended like the HOU-DAL 05 series
Back to the point, seven games are good.
More games is what we want to see, more revenue etc.
Five's not enough. You lose the first game and have to win 3 of 4. Not much room for error. With seven, four of six has more room for error.

True but you had great matchups back when we had the best of five rule too. Just as good, just as classic. Yet not the seven boring other matchups that take way to long to end...

If it is so boring to you, then be my guest, watch Women's Tennis.
Pass... but I rather do something else than watch the game that I love, and to experience that on me is pretty bad.

You can always watch ESPN classic too and walk down the memory lane. If you are in Germany, Formula 1 right now is heating up, and I believe also an ATP tournament should be coming up. UEFA has been mildly fun too this year, and Angela Merkel is way too sexy to ignore.
There is better things to do than to watch AI being benched, and Carmelo admitting publicly that he is a quitter.

I hate Formula One with a passion but you are right, there's other stuff going on... way to go Melo!
