Josh Childress..

Post#1 » by NaplesSunsFan » Tue Apr 29, 2008 12:33 am

Dude is a great player IMO. I was cold on him out of HS when he was drafted, but the more I see of him the more I like him.

Has anyone on this board seen a lot of him? He's coming off the bench in ATL now so I guess he can't be that great.

He would be fantastic as a 6th man, I'd throw the full MLE at him.

If the Suns dont offer him a full MLE they will be classified as crazy. He is the 6th man for the Hawks and is VERY underappreciated, and would be the ULTIMATE 3 for us.

His D is ridiculous. The second ATL put him in the game, he started screwing with the Celts.

GO HAWKS!!!

er... well.. you know. this game anyway.

Teams are going to have go over the MLE and probably $7 mil to keep the Hawks from matching. MLE and the Hawks will match that in a sec. Chill is a true 6th man. He may have a few good games starting. Beyond that he is average at best when starting.

That is fine with me if he doesn't get more than $7 Mil. It make it easier for the Hawks to match any contract offer for him. Basically what I am saying is a team will need to overpay in order to get him from the Hawks.

Isn't Josh smith a free agent? Isn't that their first priority? Hes going to cost a lot I think. Then Williams is not to far off for an extension right? Im thinking big picture that is.

Is Harford your center, or is this team going to go after a center in FA sometime in the future?

The Hawks wud be better off letting Chill walk and using the bucks on pickin up a quality true center instead, so that Horford can slide down @ PF and J-Smoove can go back to playin swingman.

Having Marvin, Smith, JJ, rotating at the swingman spots (with Acie Law playin spot mins at SG, Mario West, and Salim Stoudemire also gettin some) shud be enuf.

Wudn't mind having Childress here if we dont keep GG

Smith would be awesome here...but Chill would be a nice replacement as a Marion-lite, at half the price...heck he even has the ugly jump shot

As others have said though, I think he clearly can/will get more than the MLE...

Josh Smith is getting paid this offseason. I'd be willing to take a chance on the fro. Thanks to a moron GM in atlanta, he's been trapped behind about 10 small forwards ont he roster.

Great player. Would love him here. Shoots high percentage, great D, good replacement for Hill.
