Looks like Larry Brown will be back in the coaching seat shortly.

and we thought Porter got a raw deal....the bobcats had no playoff expectations....I guess they had to do what they had to do (??) in order to get a coach like Larry Brown maybe this will put 50 more fans in the seats next season. (isn't this a young team thats not looking to add veterans, seems like a bad fit for Brown but who cares)

No one knew if he was a good coach or not when he came here. It was pretty obvious, since he had minimal coaching experience, that he was hired because he was from Milwaukee, not because he was good. Something as simple as diagramming an in-bound play during a timeout proved to be too challenging for him.
The fact that he was followed by two other incompetent coaches doesn't change the fact that he too was incompetent. There have been a lot of openings since he left and he hasn't sniffed another head coaching gig.

the huge difference is before the season the expectations for the bucks was to make it to the 2nd round of playoffs...the Bobcats did not have enough talent to make it to the playoffs this year.
you can atleast say the bucks have talent besides Okafor and Wallace who else on that team is a good piece to trade.

I'm not sure we have more talent than Charlotte. I'd probably view the talent base as better in Charlotte. If you rated the players, I'd look at it like this:
1. Bogut
2. Okafor
3. Gerald Wallace
4. J-Rich
5. Redd
Then you have bust/unknown high numbers ones like Adam Morrison v. Yi. Mo v. Felton. Sean May v. CV.
Neither team has a real full cupboard. The difference is that now we've got a front office that Charlotte still doesn't have.

Um, what? Anyone with half a brain would have won more than 36 games with the Bobcats roster, putting them in the playoffs.
As for Vincent, this isn't a scapegoat thing. He feuded with not one, not two, but the entire roster of the Bobcats. The players revolted as a result.

ok Wallace, Okafor and Richardson are the building blocks but you cannot honestly say that AM, May, and Felton has proven more in the NBA than Mo, Yi, and CV give me a break.

I don't think any of those six guys has proven anything. That's my point. If you say our team is more talented because we have Mo, Yi and CV, I'd argue that Mo/Felton are a wash, Yi/Morrison are a wash and CV/May are a wash.
I don't think Charlotte or the Bucks have much in the way of a talent base. Both teams could get better quickly with a fortuitous trade or two, but Charlotte might have the edge in talent slightly.

Felton is Mo with a dodgy jumpshot. I'd never trade Mo for him and I'm no Mo fan.paulpressey25 wrote:-= original quote snipped =-

OK, Mo and Felton are not a wash. I know you're not a Mo fan, but come on.
Morrison was the worst player in the NBA his rookie season, Yi wasn't.
May played in 23 games his rookie season, 35 in his second. Charlie has been able to find his way onto the court and when he has he's been, at the very least, been as good (or bad) as May.
Argue all you want, but you're going to be wrong.

Jordan reportedly bringing in Brown as next Cats coach
Associated Press
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Well-traveled Larry Brown has reached an agreement to return to the NBA as coach of the Charlotte Bobcats, a person familiar with the decision told the Associated Press on Monday.
The person, speaking on condition of anonymity because an official announcement has not been made, said Brown was expected to sign a contract on Tuesday. The Bobcats have called an afternoon news conference for what was termed a "major basketball announcement."
Brown will replace Sam Vincent, fired on Saturday after going 32-50 in his one season. It'll be Brown's ninth NBA team and his first coaching job since his messy exit as coach of the New York Knicks in 2006.
The move means Bobcats part-owner Michael Jordan has turned to a fellow former North Carolina Tar Heel to try to get the fourth-year Bobcats into the playoffs for the first time. Jordan and the 67-year-old Brown both played for former North Carolina coach Dean Smith.
