Scouting Report: Milwaukee Bucks - DraftExpress

Post#1 » by pasting_monkeys » Tue Apr 29, 2008 7:02 am

Scouting Report Link

Scroll down past the Indiana Pacers report, and find a scouting report on every player on the current Bucks roster. Well almost every player, it looks as though the jury is still out on Yi.

I'm not posting the article because: a) it's massive, and b) draftexpress stays afloat because of advertising revenue, so the more views their ads get the better.

That guy is way too nice. Says Gadzuric is a mediocre offensive post player.

That whole write up is fairly terrible.

The guy should try watching the team.

If you listened to them, you'd assume we were, at the very least, an average defensive team.

Also, there are a couple things that are just flat-out wrong. For example, this comment on Mo Williams:

Not much of a rebounder at his position.

He was pretty good at that last time I checked (even though his numbers dropped a bit because of increasing board numbers for other players).

Apparently, everyone on the team is at least average defensively, including Villanueva.

Hard to believe that we were the worst defensive team in the NBA.

BTW, I appreciate the effort that must have gone into this wrote up. However, I think they'd have been better served having a bunch of guys take 1 or 2 teams that they were familiar with and then only write up players of some importance. In the time wasted writing up Awvee Storey or Jake Voskuhl, the guy could have actually watched a Bucks game.

Yea a lot of this stuff isn't very good. Extremely optimistic.

Redd:
Great character and skill level make him a good franchise cornerstone.

Bobby:
A quality small forward

A decent defender who is a solid all around player. Uses his athleticism to his advantage when defending the perimeter.

CV:
An average defender

Displays very average intensity.

I stopped reading after he followed up the Gadzuric is a mediocre offensive player with saying Royal Ivey is a great defender.

before his knee injury

:o Unless I'm missing something - didn't Bobby hurt his foot? If they meant foot, that's some quality reporting right there. I mean, it wasn't like he missed a year with it or anything.

Sometimes people say average and mean poor. I'd say this is one such case, as you can't be very average in the literal sense can you?

I seem to remember LP having some long argument with someone about 'average' meaning 'poor' which I think is an Australianism.

I seem to remember it went for many pages and may have resulted in his 'I hate Australians' quote! (At least he spelt Australia OK!!!)

I actually think they mean Bucks players are average in many categories - which perfectly explains our sub-500 record
