aussienet wrote:VC4P, Your thoughts are valid , However you need to understand that because of Boone's development his trade value is sky high. I don't wanna give up Boone but if Brand was the carrot then you gotta say yes. Right now SWILL has more untapped potential. We don't know if he will take off or become another stro. Sorry to all those stro lovers out there.
So if i'm Thorn I would have to see what i could get for Boone if Brand is the upgrade i gotta pull the trigger.
If i was Thorn, my first priority wouldn't be trading Boone or trying to get Brand. It would be talkin Rattner into spending some coin and firing Frank!! but that's for another thread

I never said I wouldn't do the deal.
I would.
This deal will probrably never happen though.

What are the chips needed to trade for Brand? That package that was offered is a little unrealistic. Typical one sided trade nothing for the team on the other end.

But for the record just look at the minutes between Boone and Swill. There is a reason why he played more this year.

At this point Boone is a better player!!!!!!!!!

There is literally no chance that this trade would ever happen.

A Brand package would have to start with RJ or Harris.

^ Minutes have nothing to do with the Boone and SWill comparison.

You forget the person responsible for minutes is FRANK.

SWill has more potential. Remember this is Boones third year. Swill has shown more in his first year then boone has in 3. Swill will be better.

Swill
Low Post game (Turn Around Jumper, Hook Shot, and etc...)
Jump Shot though Close range
Rebounding
Defending
Blocking

Boone
No Low post game
No Jump Shot
Yeah he can rebound
Defend ?
Blocking Nada

I like boone too, but SWill is going to be better. I didnt even include the dunking.

I'm with VC4Pres on this one. While Sean did show A LOT of promise this year he also proved to be RAW as hell. Sean would be the ideal C/PF if we were running a more uptempo style offense, one we'll never see as long Frank is our coach(something he'll be for the next few years like it or not).

Josh Boone is the ideal pick and roll player, the better rebounder, man to man defender, has the higher BB IQ and has more chemistry with VC, Marcus and Harris.

Granted Boone had a good year with us, you can say it took him a year or two to figure it out with playing time. Swill is a rookie. In his rookie year, he has shown more then what Boone showed us in his.

If they dont trade either, I am cool with that because I like them both. But if 1 is getting traded I would rather have Boone go.

Not really.

Boone in his first year avg 11 min a game to Sean's 18.

If you adjust Boone's minutes to match sean's you'd see that there production were nearly the same. Boone having the edge in Pts and FG% while Sean would get the nod in Blks and FT%.

But all of this is meaningless unless the clippers decide to trade brand which I doubt.
