Leon Powe is Overmatched
Leon Powe hasn't stepped up in this series. He looks like a deer caught in head lights. He doesn't belong on the court. He is a player that scores during garbage time and clearly isn't ready for the big time. Powe had only 3 points and 2 rebounds in 21 minutes.
What's worst is that he played important minutes in the 3rd and 4th quarters. During this stretch he played about 13 straight minutes and had 0 points and 0 rebounds. Doc Rivers is an idiot for staying with him. Perkins was having his best game of the series and crashing the boards but Rivers failed to play him down the stretch.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. There is no way that this team will ever win a title with Doc as the head. I like the guy but he just sucks at making adjustments.
We are a soft team and relies too heavily on jump shots. He went to the FT line only 18 times compared to 33 times by the Hawks. We lost the game at the line by being outscored 29-10.
This team needs a beast like Joey Dorsey when Perkins is on the bench. There is no excuse to be tied 2-2 against the worst team in the playoffs.

Why all the flack on doc NOW, when the players are not getting it done on the court. Powe had just as much success this season as struggles so in the end it is up to him to play well.
Outside of noticing and creating positive matchups Doc has NO CONTROL inside those lines, especially when his team has won soo many games and should be on point.
I havent seen many complaints about doc until recently and who would have EVER thought somone would be saying Mike Woodson outcoached anybody?

Well, Powe would have had more than 3 points and 2 boards if Cassell would actually pass the ball or wait for people to get down before shooting.
Powe is in the game with 2nd unit when Cassell's in the game. Sam misses a trash shot with 20 seconds left on the shot clock before anyone can get down. Hawks get the long rebound and off to the races.
When can Powe get rebounds or get points when this is the trend while he's in the game?

Powe did a good job last night. I am more concerned with Perkins. He started off so well, sealing out Horford and getting second chance points and fouls on Josh Smith. Then he disappeared after that. He needs to keep his head in the game. He is capable of defending Horford and clearing the glass. The lack of boxouts on Smith and especially Childress is astounding. No way should Childress be getting 4 offensive boards against Pierce/Posey.

He's not that overmatched. He's a backup PF. You can't expect him to take it to Josh Smith, one of the most talented players in the league. He was fine when he was given the chance to do something.
Think about it. How can you expect him to do anything when his PG is bricking pull-ups from 20-feet with 20 seconds to go in the shot clock and the Hawks are taking the long-rebound and breaking the other way every time? When is he getting the ball to score or rebounds in this situation?

Were we watching the same game? Powe was no where to be found. Every time he went for a rebound, the ball was over his head.
Perkins was having his best game of the series. You were concerned with Perkins? Perkins didn't disappear. He was benched by Doc for 14 straight minutes in the 2nd half. It seemed like Perkins picked up his 5th foul in the 3rd quarter, the way Doc managed his minutes. Perkins had only 3 fouls. Doc went with Powe instead of Perkins and our rebounding suffered.
