Given your playoff results, do you still think the asking price for Artest was too high?

Yes, if he was on the team the only difference is the team may not have made the playoffs, and instead blown up at the end of March.

Now that he has had an outstanding second half, do you think the Kings should have jumped all over the JR and first deal that was offered????

Which team exceded expectations, Sacramento.
Which team choked in relation to their expectations, Denver.

No, I don't think Geoff Petrie regrets taking less than he thinks he should for any of his players.

What does that have to do with anything?

But, since you brought it up, what were the Kings expectations coming into the season? Did they have any? No, everyone thought they were a lottery team, guess where the ended up?

Sure, Artest would have been good to put on Kobe, leaving K-Mart to guard Gasol. But if we gave up Klieza and Najera to get him, who else do we play. That leaves JR coming off the bench and........

Aside from the fact that there is no guarentee the Nuggets even make the playoffs with Artest. It would have taken some time to build up the chemistry, and with as close as the playoff race was in the west, we might be on the outside looking in, only without a first, and without Klieza, and without Najera (assuming that the "asking price" was Klieza an expiring (najera) and a first).

So no, I think the Kings got greedy and wanted too much for Artest. I'm glad the Nuggets didn't try to make the quick fix, and give up their future for a chance at a deep playoff run.

Wasn't Artest injured most of the last two months, and is now getting finger surgery?
