Tj Ford future with Raptors in doubt.

If he is released we should be all over him. Even with his health issues Rafer and him would be an awesome PG tandem. Then we could deal B Jackson for a Player !!! Any thoughts???

If there is a chance to release him I say try and get him to come back home through FA and use Jax and HEad for Miller

I changed the title of the thread to be more accurate. There's absolutely no mention in the article of TJ Ford being released.

Given the fact that Toronto owes him almost $26 million over the next three years, I would say his release would be a virtual impossibility.

It does appear that Toronto will be looking to re-sign Calderon and likely make him their starter at the 1. Therefore, it's reasonable to think that Toronto will be listening to trade offers, but, again, I found it extremely unlikely that they'd out-and-out release him.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

I think we should try and deal Jackson and Head for him, it would work out perfectly. Ford would be the ideal PG that we've been looking for. Hes just a consistent Rafer, that is VERY quick, and can play terrific D.

Toronto fan here -- there's NO way we're releasing Ford. He's at worst our 3rd best player. He (or calderon) may be moved for star 2/3 though.

I dunno, but i think calderon would be good for us. In games i watched he seemed to set-up the offense well, and is a much betta shooter than Ford, especially from 3. But with the way he played this season, it would almost be impossible to get him without givin too much

TJ FORD SUCKS!

might put up decent stats but he is very careless with the ball, makes stupid mistakes down the line, complains alot

wont do better than rafer for us

Dude got own by Jameer Nelson, who's mentally and physically stronger. This guy folds under pressure.

I'd give my left nut for Calderon.

TJ Ford has a history of very serious injuries, he's very small making him a defensive liability, and his 3 pt shooting is worse than any of our current PGs. I'm a longhorn, but I think we should see how Brooks develops before jumping the gun on TJ.

Calderon, on the other hand, is a different story...

Living in Toronto and having watched heaps of Raptors games this season, I can tell you that I don't want a single piece of this guy.

First he has huge attitude and ego issues. if things don't go his way, he'll start sulking until he gets his way.

His game is very erratic. He often plays out of control, doesn't know where to go with the ball and dominates the ball a lot. He disrupts ball movement with his ballhogging and is a really bad finisher around the rim. He often forces bad shots.

He is pretty talented in the regard that he can break down any defender off the dribble and find the open man. His midrange jumpshot is fairly decent and he can make big shots.

Too bad he is not able to use his tools in the proper way.

If Rafer makes you crazy for being out of control, you'll get lots of grey hair with TJ on this team.

My verdict: No to TJ, there is a reason the raps want to ship him.

In 2-3 years, I can see Brooks being as good as TJ is now, without all the ego and attitude problems.

TJ is like our prodigal son, but he doesn't bring us enough (the three-point shot).

A guy like Hinrich I'd be willing to gamble on.

While I wouldn't be against getting him, we kind of already have a mini-TJ in Brooks. Seems kind of pointless in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah. He's still a rookie and I satisfy what he brought to the table. He should be given another shot.

As I said before in my other post. They isnt anyone on the Raptors I would like on my team. We have a Ford on our team, his name is Rafer. Ony difference is Ford penetrates to score, and Rafer shoots to score.
