Anthony Randolph (besides Rose who is probably out of reach) is the only draft pick the Bobcats can use. Nearly all Bobcats fans are open to trading the pick if Randolph is off the board.
I like what this does to our entire roster, who has been horribly mismanaged under the previous regimes.
Morrison wasn't used correctly at all in his first year. He was the "bail-out" guy when there was 3 seconds left on the shot clock, resulting in his low FG%. Obviously Morrison has skills because he showed it in flashes during his rookie season; he showed that he can take over games. He could dominate quarters. I'm excited to see what Brown can do for Morrison, even if he doesn't play right away.
Brown will love Dudley. I think the Battier comparison is spot-on. One of the reasons the Bobcats did so well against the Celtics this season was Dudley's disruptive defense on Paul Pierce.
Carroll was another example of a misused player under Vincent. He never got any screens. Carroll should flourish as well.
Okafor. God, its so frustrating to talk about how badly our team was coached. Brown will love Okafor and Wallace.
J-Rich a locker room cancer? If anything, J-Rich saved this season from being a total disaster, worse than the Heat. J-Rich was the best 3-point shooting player this season. He added another dimension to his already sick game.
Felton will improve the most.
What makes this so different from the Knicks situation is that each and every one of the Bobcats with the exception of May are hard workers who are easily coachable and willing to learn. Felton, Wallace, and Okafor are especially hard workers.

Iverson and Billups didn't average great assists under Brown. But I do expect a career year out of Felton, and same with Okafor. But I don't expect Morrison, or your draft pick to play a lot.
Because Brown coaches a "team first" concept where everyone gets involved and moves the ball around, not a PG dominated style.

Always injured? He had one bad high ankle sprain that sat him for an extended period which had nothing to do with him going against "stronger" guy's.
You can say that about Crash being forced to play the 4 and being undersized, but not Okafor as a 5.

Beasley would be the choice before Rose - but you are discounting him and only putting Randolph and rose forward as "the only draft pick the Bobcats can use"???

It totally baffles me why people continue to hire Larry Brown. He has an absolutely gargantuan ego, he has a history of turning on/bolting from EVERY SINGLE TEAM he's been with when he gets bored/restless/whatever, he talks **** about his players to the press, is notorious for not wanting to give anyone under the age of 25/26 any playing time, has a history of not getting along with his 'star' players, pushes his gms to make trades that invariably reduce talent and increase 'character', refuses to admit responsibility when he makes mistakes, etc etc etc.
The guy has come off as an arrogant self-serving ass. But it would be one thing if he were actually the HOF coach everyone says he is, but he's not. He is among the most overrated coaches in NBA history.
In 23 seasons as a head coach in the NBA, he failed to qualify for the playoffs 6 times and he lost in the first round 7 times. That's 13 times out of 23 that he either didn't get into the playoffs or lost in the first round. 56.5% of the time, well over HALF the time, he either didn't get in or lost in the first round! He lost in the second round 5 times, so 18 times out of 23 he didn't get further than the second round. 78.3% of the time he didn't make it further than the second round! Only 5 times did he get deep into the playoffs - two ECF with the Pacers, the finals with the Sixers, and the championship and finals with the Pistons. 5 times out 23. 21.7%. Less than a quarter. The way the guy is hailed, you would think he's the winningest coach in nba history, but he's not even close, and he has ALL that baggage. I just don't understand why people continue to hire him, and to FOUR YEAR CONTRACTS, when history clearly shows there's a good chance of the guy wanting out before that time is up.

I'd rather have a 21.7% chance than a 0% chance.
Your diatribe is incorrect on several levels. Brown always leaves his teams in better standing than when he acquired them. He didn't "give up" on the Sixers. He felt the Sixers had reached their peak and wouldn't go any further with him. He didn't "give up" on the Pistons. He won a championship with them for Christ's sake. He left the Pistons in a position where they could keep on winning, which they have.
All that baggage you are talking about is mostly because of New York, where any coach was in a dead-fish scenario. That roster was uncoachable. A million people will tell you so. It was full of players with me-only agendas and not really caring about winning.
The Bobcats are the complete opposite. They are full of hard working, athletic players who have never been coached correctly in their NBA careers. They want to be adequately coached. They want to listen.

I live near Kansas City.
Recently, one of the sports radio stations interviewed Larry Brown to talk about the success of KU this year. It was a pretty long interview.
I like Larry Brown.
But he really didn't sound so good. Like, he seemed really slow and out of it. No doubt he was a good coach but he didn't sound like a man who should be coaching anymore from what I heard.
He just sounded..unwell.

I can't tell if this is a good move, only time will tell.
Larry, however, should've waited for a possible Avery Johnson firing. I think the Dallas job would be perfect for him. Kidd, Dampier, Howard, and to an extent Howard are all Larry Brown type players and they would probably make some more noise with him next year.

does anyone know the terms of the contract?
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:
"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."
