I can't take this...

Post#1 » by Matt34520 » Tue Apr 29, 2008 5:42 pm

Last night killed me. I can't believe this is happening. I honestly felt sick last night. I don't know what to say. Please god, don't let this happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(  :banghead:

How can we take this back? We must take this back. Suddenly I don't know if we can do this. I was wearing a Bird jersey and had a Russell and Havilchek jersey in the room I was watching the game. For good luck, and it didn't work.

fellow gmers, we all need to pray to the basketball gods that this does not continue. If the Celtics are bounced in the 1st round vs. the Hawks, I will have to seek a therapist. :nonono:
Ray still got game.

The only way the celtics can sort of redeem themselves is beat the hawks by 20 games 5 and 6 which is a complete stretch judging by the last 2 games.

I feel ya man, I just cant believe what I am watching. We're not done though, believe me we are not done. I hate athletic momentum teams, they always seem to just come up and bite you in the ass.

Well, they looked better than we did last night and the night before.

They looked younger, stronger, and faster.

And losing is definitely a possibility now.

I think we need to increase our effort. We were very focused during the regular season, but other teams weren't, so we came off looking great by comparison. Now, with other teams locked in because of the playoffs, our effort and focus do not stand out so much.

I am very worried by the kind of talk that I heard on WEEI this afternoon. Ordway was saying that he is still not worried about the series.

Not worried about the series? Are you watching the same games that I am? Maybe we should still be favored to win, but NOT WORRIED????

Pierce not having the strength to get a layup on the rim during the fourth quarter last night symbolizes the whole thing for me. We look old and a step slow...

Yes, we can win, we should win, but we are not entitled to win just by showing up.

Play like there's no tomorrow guys, because there isn't.

I am not worried,I am disgusted.

Celts will coast in game 5, and will likely win game 6. But, Game 4s second and fourth quarter were dreadful.

With the talent we have, no way should we struggle shooting- -EVER.

What this board expects is that a 66 win team should sweep a 37 win team, or at least be up 3-1 now.

It doesn't matter if this series goes 7 games, we have homecourt throughout. I think each series will go 6 games with us losing two on their court, as long as we can take one on their court and all at home we will be just fine.
Is it a suprise that we are where we are with the Hawks? This team has had problems all year with the up-tempo athletic teams in the league. We will win series but have problems with these type teams, it hasn't changed all year. Doc needs to play TA and put House ahead of Cassell against these teams with Posey playing the 4 more. Why is Davis dressed and Scal in clothes for teams like this. Scal can guard the perimeter for spot minutes without hurting us. Powe is still dressed for power up front if needed, as is PJ.
I think we need to start Posey at the 4 and have TA swing at the SG/SF spots. KG can handle Horford, and bring Perk off the bench when they call on Zaza. If Smith has to cover Posey he will be taken away from the basket, where Pierce and TA have room to go to the rim along with Rondo. Let TA pressure Johnson and make him play defense on the other end and it will slow him down. If Ray is in the game you spread the floor with Ray, Pierce, and Posey on the perimeter and have Garnett set a screen for Rondo to take it to the basket on Bibby for a pick and role with three perimeter guys there for a kick out. This is how you beat an athletic team, by attacking their weaknesses.

^^Good post. You also pound it inside against a laughable defensive team like the Hawks...we (in particular Pierce and Cassell) have been way too jump-shot happy. It's pissing me off.

The Hawks low post D is actually where they're at the best. The wya to score on us it to explot Bibby, Childress, and Marvin by running screens on them off the ball.
