Zach Randolph ~VS.~ Mehmet Okur

Post#1 » by #1KnicksFan » Tue Apr 29, 2008 8:16 pm

Aside from salary (duh, ), who would you rather have and why?

Here's the season averages btw:

Okur

14.4 ppg (44% FG; 38% 3's; 80% FT's)
8 reb
2 ast
.45 blk
.75 stl
1.5 to

Randolph

17.6 ppg
(46% FG; 28% 3's; 77% FT's)
10.3 reb
2 ast
.23 blk
.86 stl
2.7 to
If lee is worth #12 then Ron is EASILY worth #5. Sooo...how about:
Malik Rose/#5 for Ron Artest.

lol.. Okur.. You know why? One, he stretches the defense like you have no idea. It could easily account for 10 or 20 extra points in the paint due to the abscence of a big man.

Two, he wouldn't be getting in fights with his teamates.

Last but not least, he shouldn't be playing in the NBA with this Chuck Norris attitude.

Okur, and it isn't even close.

To get a true look at Okur's stats look at his numbers after the all-star break since he has finally gotten healthy this season.

He's averaging 17 and 10, just like Z-Bo, and then 48% from the floor, and 40% from 3, so basically his stats are equal, the mix in the fact that he isn't absolutely nuts and isn't the worst black hole in the league and you have your answer.

All we need is JazzFan here and we can have a good ol' fashioned homer melee.

No but seriously, this is close. Don't even front.

I'd take Okur. Even if Okur suffered a season-ending injury he'd still be of more use than Zach Randolph.

I don't mind hearing OPINIONS.

As long as they're not haters spewing homer BS without any basis of fact or statistical backup.

Ya dig?

Okur. It isn't that close. Okur could put up bigger numbers on a bad team, but unlike Randolph, he is more worried about winning games and sharing the ball than padding his stats.

Hello, I'm a fan of the Bulls. I do not actually like either the Jazz or Knicks. I have no fondness for either Okur or Randolph. I actually even wanted the Bulls to get Randolph last offseason, because he was available for dirt cheap.

Okur. Not even close. Okur stretches the D VERY well. He's certainly had a down year, but he is a better defender than Randolph, and he's actually a much more efficient scorer. Even though his FG% is lower, Okur manages to hit a ton of 3's, dragging his TS% up, far above Randolph's.

Randolph is, however, a better rebounder.

Randolph has better statistics, sure, but Randolph is the POSTER BOY for empty statistics - someone who can have high production without helping his team.
