The way Okur is rebounding & considering Camby is on a downward slope I would have to go with Okur...

Okur is also much much better offensively. In short team due to injury team, he can score 23+ PPG. Also his lack of presence defensively, is made up by his presence offensively. He requires a big man, 4 or 5 to guard him, if they don't, he will shoot the three efficiently. But if they do guard him, which he is constantly guarded, it opens up the lanes, and the paint for easy baskets.

Talk to the Celtics and Spurs about it.

And the rebounding and blocking numbers aren't too bad as of late.

If you posted this before the Nuggets/Lakers series, everyone would have taken Camby. But of course you need to stick it to us so you're gonna post it after Camby had some of his worst performances ever.

That being said, I hate Camby. So Okur it is.

Duncan... Why don't you actually contribute something to this thread...

Anyways I would depend on what type of team you have. If you have someone like Dirk you would want Camby if you have someone who works in the post you would want Okur. They are both fringe allstar bigmen. They sometimes look like world beaters and other nights you just want to yell at them.

I think it is interesting that both are considered centers but in my estimation they are both true power forwards.

Especially Okur he is definately a PF on other teams... I think he has enough footspeed to hold his ground against most of the PF's in the league... not sure if Camby is a PF though...

Early in his career he was a PF on the Knicks... he has just been slotted as a center due to the decline of traditional bigman.

not even close, Okur sucks. He's terrible. Stop fronting.

^ dedicated to homer Jazz fans everywhere.

In all seriousness, it's sort of close. But Camby win on defense, rebounding, and probably FG % (I'm too lazy to look).

So give me Camby in a landslide.
If lee is worth #12 then Ron is EASILY worth #5. Sooo...how about:
Malik Rose/#5 for Ron Artest.

Camby gets offensive rebounds which allows Melo and AI to chuck up more shots, think of it this way

the nuggets up by one and need a defensive sequence who do you take camby

If the Jazz are down by 1 who shoots the ball not okur, maybe D Will, AK, or Boozer

in a way its more about their roles and teams

gotta go with Camby.........

Okur's TS% is .556, Camby's is .498, so Okur is a far more efficient scorer. That doesn't really mean much, though, since Camby shoots and scores so little. His specialties are rebounding and help defense, where he is among the best in the league. He certainly had a better season than Okur overall, but it was closer when just looking at the second half. I'd tentatively take Camby, but it could vary depending o the make-up of the team.

Okur shoots a lot of 3pters... which makes his shooting percentages lower, but even though they are lower, it is pretty impressive shooting percentages for anyone.

Have you ever watched a Jazz game?
Memo is ridiculously clutch. Maybe Deron will shoot the ball instead of him. But if you ask any Jazz fan who do you want taking the last shot of a game, probably half of them will say Memo.

7 Game winning field goals last year, and 1 game winning block.

The two games ago they played, he rebounded the ball of two straight free throw misses during the last couple of seconds, and drew the foul, which gave the team enough separation to win.
