The West Playoffs= A Bust

Post#1 » by jboogy13 » Tue Apr 29, 2008 7:01 pm

suprisingly the eastern conference playoffs has been the more suprising ones....i feel as if the west playoffs just hasnt lived up to the hype that it was supposed to. too many teams are on the verge so early and that just sucks the life out of them.

Too early to call it a bust. There can be some exciting **** in the next round, you just don't know yet.

The WCF will be worth watching, hopefully the Lakers push S.A. to the limit

Or maybe its because your homer goggles wont let you believe the eventual truth. LA sends Utah home fishin.

Easily, the west playoffs were a huge bust. The 50 win 8 seed was supposed to give the Lakers a series, they barely even gave them a game.

Houston and Utah was supposed to be a competitive series, its been average. San Antonio and Phoenix promised us to be legendary... the Suns went down 3-0. And Dallas and New Orleans is looking to be over soon too.

But the 1 vs. 8 and 2 vs. 7 out east are tied 2-2? So much for the East being so weak... Although Washington and Toronto have been huge busts thus far.

Well, at least we aren't Cleveland... seriously... Indians, Cavs, Browns... ouch.

It's just you. Maybe you're thinking of the lakers of yesteryear. In case you missed it, they've gotten much better since.

Does that mean that the East is strong or that the East coaches are absolutely heart-wrenchingly terrible? Flip Saunders and Doc Rivers are your top teams' coaches? Bill Simmons is having a heart attack somewhere.

If excitement is elite teams sleeping off then i don't know. Its a shame what kind of game we witnessed in SA will be water downed by eastern conference day dreamers. As of right now one team from each conference is out of playoffs.

the west was so loaded this year that every series was expected to be epic, there was sure to be a let down somewhere with those kind of standards
little did we know that it would be in nearly all 4 series
the east has been more competative
i only hope the west series will become more competative in the next rounds, which should be likely

Jesus Christ people. It's the first round. The only series that's been disappointing is the SA Phx game. Oh but it also gave us one of the most legendary playoff games in recent history.

Denver and Houston didn't have a chance. I'm surprised Houston has made it so close, but teams that play defense are going to be able to stop them without Yao. Dal NO? I thought it'd be a little closer, but we've at least seen CP3 do some amazing things in his playoff debut.

The second and conf finals will be a lot better. LA Utah is a super matchup. SA and NO should be a very physically matchup as well, and pits two of the best PGs in the league against each other.

Utah is a good team and i won't overlook them, they have a shot at beating us in the second round. Anything could happen in the playoffs, i bet noone expected the Hawks to win one game vs the celtics but look what happened

ok, so in this "competitive" east, suppose 7 and 8 make the grand upsets, then what? ATL vs CLE, PHI vs ORL? the ratings for the east would be worse than anyone even imagined before playoffs began

id rather have a bust in 1st round than a bust for the semi finals and finals
