Kobe has outplayed AI on offense and defense. Not to mention Kobe is just a far superior player.

MVP is not based on stats as we have all learned from the past 4 years,
if it were KOBE should have gotten it the last 3 out of 4 years.

That's not totally right. Kobe got mentioned because Lakers is number 1 in the west. The year AI got MVP I think the Sixers had 55 or 56 wins and ranked number 1 in east as well.

This is how they pretty much decide the MVP... Throw out stats...Take that player off the team and evaluate where they would be... Nuggets without Iverson are still probably a playoff team, argue it, whatever, one thing you cant argue is take Kobe off the Lakers and where are they?

Kobe deserves the MVP because you take him off the Lakers, I would guess they would be a 6th seed at the very highest, I would actually doubt they make the playoffs.

Chris Paul is also just as important to the Hornets than Kobe is to the Lakers, but once again Kobe got his team to a one seed Chris got his team to a 2 seed... Very amazing, but not a one seed, thus Kobe wins it hands down.

Denver barely squeaked into the play-offs with AI playing out of his mind this year and you think they would have made the play-offs without him.

lols

Kobe is going to get the MVP because his career has been better than everybody elses under consideration and the lakers had a better season than most.

This was not Kobe's best season nor did he play better than chris paul, garnett, or lebron. As for AI, the stats were impressive and his play was definitely honorable mention but he did not dominate at his position and he was not enough of a game changer to be considered for MVP. Had AI not gone through the two or three 3 game slumps, denver probably would have won 53 to 55 games this season. That would have been the difference between playing the lakers and possibly playing new orleans or dallas, which would have been a much better match up.

Kobe gets teh head nod for NOT taking games off or giving up wins that they should have had.

Yea right, Kobe has been superior to CP3 and Garnett this year. LeBron was just as good.

The last 5 games CP3 had he was shooting 30%. The guy takes credit for his team completing his pases. U think it's hard to pass a ball to Peja when he can makes shots just about anytime he wanted or a alley to Chandler, which doesn't take much skills. Or Pargo carrying the team everytime CP3 sits down.

Kobe takes over the game when his team needs him. CP3 just dishes the ball, u think it's harder to pass than make the shots? When his team mates don't make their shots, they lose, but when they make it, they win, see the correlation.

wow, seems like lakers fans care more about kobe getting mvp than winning the title... don't worry, your boy will get it, stern will look to that.

nevertheless, congrats on winning the first round, your team looks really solid this year.

One thing to mention...
putting AI here was only to fill a place for a Denver guy, as i said if you read the post AI IS FAR NOT AN MVP CANDIDATE THIS YEAR....but thank you....
It s through Kobe will get it...otherwise, he will say it in front of the tv....and cry because he didn t get the MVP....

1 thing to correct, saying that without Kobe the Lakers won t be 1 seed, well last year Kobe was there and Bynum too, please remember that and remember Lakers seed prior to Gasol arrival and their more than 10 win in a row.....
