ALTHAM, Mass. -- The Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks escaped discipline for a Game 4 skirmish in which Kevin Garnett pushed off a referee while players on both benches stepped onto the court.

NBA spokesman Tim Frank said Tuesday there would be no fines or suspensions. Four technical fouls resulted in a game Atlanta won 97-92 to tie the best-of-seven series at two games apiece.

The confrontation started when Garnett cleared out Zaza Pachulia with an elbow, and the Hawks forward went forehead-to-forehead with the Celtics star. A referee grabbed Garnett, but he, too, got a push as Garnett struggled to break free.

Celtics center Kendrick Perkins and Atlanta forward Marvin Williams acknowledged they stepped onto the court as they strained to see what was going on. Such actions are barred in the NBA, especially with commissioner David Stern looking on.

Alright it's official. Stern and Popovich are officially blowin eachother.

This is Boston they will do anything in their power to make this a playoff team that could go to the championship. The funny thing is Boston isnt that good they just play in the east... Your local high school could win a game or two in that conference.

Robert Horry was suspended for the same forearm as Garnett threw

This is truly a disappointing day as a Suns fan. I thought they would at least suspend Perkins and Williams for sure, but I guess this is what happens when you have a pair of clowns running the show. :noway:

Perkins and Williams CLEARLY stepped into the court. Boris freakin' Diaw took 3 steps ON THE SIDELINE and are suspended by THE LETTER OF THE LAW. F this. This league is rigged.

My very first thought on this topic: do we actually need a new thread to realize/agree upon the fact that this Goddamn moddaf'n bastard sucks?!
It's definitely not like we needed another proof for this, but, of course, he once again delivered one.

In other sports you at least stick to those lousy ridiculous rules you came up with (like getting punished for taking off your jersey after scoring a goal in soccer), but obviously in the NBA it all depends on whether Mr. Stern likes or dislikes the team in question - awesome, just awesome. What an embarrassment this guy is :nonono:

Oh, and since the regular season is over and I can root for them again: GOOO HAWKS!
