^ lol sorry im horrible at math...

anyways, im really rooting for tmac and co. to pull out a 7 game upset over the jazz...itll make it THAT much easier for us...but i doubt thats gonna happen...

bottom line is lakers vs jazz...and i see the lakers advancing to the conf finals....

HOWEVER, to the person who said everyone "forgets" about the spurs....i actually said, before the playoffs even started, that the spurs and lakers will reach the conference finals...and the spurs will go on to the nba finals, losing to the celtics....

no one has forgotten about the defending champs...whether theyre boring or not, theyre a true dynasty....and toppling them will be a tough task

true dynasty????????? they cant win back to back this old team is just a team that is good for ten years because of drafting tim duncan and guess why they drft him because they had the #1 pick in the draft. that means they were a bad team. after the ten years no body will remember them because in two years they will be a bad team again because they are old and they will not be able to repeat as champs.

tell me of a true dynasty that hasn't repeat as champs????????

Alright- it does look like we'll likely face the Jazz.

I wanna set some guidelines:

1- yeah their gonna boo Fish again and that is classless. Feel free to express that on the laker board within reason.

2-No, you will not take the fight to their board if you like posting here.

We have our community and we can say what we like about their fans or players here within the site Terms of Conditions. I have no problem with being hard on them here on our board.

The Laker and Jazz mods are already geared up to take a hard line with any nonsense: Trolling, flame wars, or serious bad behavior. So keep it in-house.

Touch gloves and let's get it on!

Nobody is in trouble right now, but I've already seen Laker posters troll their board over the last few days. Those posters best be done with that bull.

yeah, you can talk to them over there. Just make sure when they get ugly that you totally ignore any insults and only deal in logic. They will definitely have some posters getting ugly, but you'll have to take the higher ground on their board. It's cool to be a little feisty here, though just like it's ok for them there.

If we get them, hopefully the Lakers continue to bring the same intensity to the Jazz as they did in the final two games with them in the regular season. Ever since the Jazz blew them out and booed Fisher fiercely, their demeanor has changed when facing them.

We already saw how much effort and intensity can do to a playoff series. The Rockets (despite down 3-1 they're all close games), 76ers, and the Hawks are good examples of this.

Lakers-Jazz will be a great series.
Jazz have what it takes to win a championship.
A great point guard.
Tough guys on the low block
great team defense
Shot blocking by AK
Great outside shooting (Korver)
Tough nosed guys (Boozer, Harpring)
Excellent coach in Sloan

Home court advantage is key

Lakers in 6 or 7

We're 3-1 vs. UTA, and we beat them without Pau.

The game we had vs. UTA, Pau didn't play due to his injured ankle, and we still whooped their ass.

Deron scares me right now. If Ariza comes back, I'll feel a little more safer.

But not to worry, we have the best intangibles guy in the business:
Kobe Bean Bryant.

He will take the challenge of guarding Deron if need be.

With the fact we now have Pau at full strength, Lakers in 5 or 6.

Let's go boys.

I can't wait.
Pau should do well against the Utah front line
Williams is an awesome player. He is the key to their success. We'll need to put a big guard on him. Ariza, sasha, or even Newble. There may be times when Kobe has to guard him.
We'll need to rebound very well and not let them have second chance points.
Lamar has to do what he has been doing on the boards since the All-Star break. He has been awesome in that regard and in taking the ball to the hoop.
DFish's experience and cool demeanor should help playing in Salt Lake City.
Kobe will be Kobe. He will keep his teammates involved and take over when they need scoring. He has been MVP worthy in the playoffs (just like the regular season)
I hope DJ gets some minutes against their front line. He can aggravate them by his length and shot blocking.
I really like our chances but do see the series going at least 6.

Rockets fan here,

they've been physical with T-Mac in our series. He's been shooting poorly. They can't stop Kobe though.

Take a leaf out of our book. Boozer's been a non-factor, and we've made Okur do things he doesn't normally do.

Deron will be a problem, but if you a good job on everyone else, let Deron have his 25 or 30.

I predict Lakers in 6. Deron Williams owns us while Kobe owns them. AK47 can't touch Kobe and that is our clear advantage. We have the size advantage and we have a deeper bench. If we can slow Deron down then there is no reason we lose. If we let him take over then we're screwed.
