Good to hear. I like it when you chime about our team with an outsiders perspective.

OK not to disagree because I think Mo would be HUGE for the Cavs.

But I have heard you say before that you wouldn't want Redd because his defense would be too hard to disguise, so what would you do with Mo's D?

Do you like being in the playoffs? Because of Mo's in Cleveland there's no way you guys win 30 games next season.

My guess is that Mo would get to Cleveland and a starter (likely Lebron) would have a season ending injury during training camp, and the Lebron-less Cavs would bomb. Then we'd have the usual suspects here stating how right they were.

No we wouldn't... I think most if not all of us would take Mo in a heartbeat..Especially over Delonte..

Nobody on the Cavs board really wants Redd, that's pretty much the consensus.. However, Mo is another story.. He's a perfect fit for our team... Poor fit in Milwaukee, but would be excellent in Cleveland..

Yep

There isn't a better fit in the NBA for Mo than on the Cavs. Mo has become a deadly midrange jump shooter, a dying skill in the NBA and he'd get many open looks off dishes from James. Plus, for all the flack Mo gets on here about his passing, he can get into the lane and dish for others.

Plus, the Cavs play defense as a team and Mo's biggest weakness could be covered up some. Not only that, it's possible that being on a team that actually defends and playing with a true star that carries clout, Mo might at least defend a bit better on a team where everyone else hustles.

I understand what you're saying, and yes, I can acknowledge that it's a bit of a double standard... However, I see more potential at that end of the floor for Mo than I do with Redd..

The Cavs defensive scheme is pretty solid, and I think Mo could benefit playing in it.. Unlike Redd, (who would have to guard scorers like Rip, Ray, J-Rich etc.) the PG's job on defense in our system is predicated at leading the guard towards the double, and of course recovering on switches etc... Ironically, the PG in the east that gives us trouble in that regard is Mo...

He's younger, quicker, and IMO has more room to improve there than Redd, who's a tad slow to guard elite scorers..

But more than anything else, it's his ability to get into the paint, his ability to use screens for his offense properly, and his ability to consistently knock down shots that is intriguing... He's a flat out scorer, and a scorer that can move the ball a bit, score in transition, and score within the halfcourt from both midrange and 3... Not to mention a unique ability to crash the glass from the PG position, and can get you a handful assists in the process..

Redd on the Cavs IMO promotes more LeBron high screen and rolls at the top, which does nothing more than keep the ball in his hands way to long for double teams, and promotes nothing more than a stagnant offense with limited ball movement/player movement due to the fact that it's nothing but spot up shooters waiting on LeBron's reaction to the defense..

Something in which I would like the Cavs to disassociate themselves from..

See, some on here believe you can just insert Redd on the CAVS, and it would be a perfect fit for the CAVS because Redd can shoot the ball, and can score.. It's nice in theory, but after watching this Cavs team for the last few years, it's more than evident they need more dribble penetration, and another ball handling guard that can run some plays for LBJ off the ball, but can also score the ball consistently... Mo fits that..Redd simply does not..

The ball doesn't move when Redd has it...It's almost an Iverson syndrome, but more from a jump shot aspect and less dribbling for 20 seconds to get a jumper in the paint.. But the type of offensive where they dominate the ball for their own offense is similar in that regard...

1. Young, athletic players who have the ability to defend.
2. Smart players
3. Clean the cap sooner than later, my goal is not next summer, but the summer after.

This will likely look a lot like the previous offseason I made with a couple tweaks.

Trade 1:
Redd for #6, Mobley, Tiny Tim

Trade 2:
Mo, Storey, our 2nd for Varejao, Damon Jones

Trade 3:
CV, Gadz for Cardinal, McKie, Memphis 2nd

Draft: Try like hell to move up with #6 and #7 to get Rose or Mayo. Include Yi for Rose if need be. Otherwise...
#6: Eric Gordon
#7: Bryant Westbrook
Memphis 2nd: DJ White

And with the 5th pick, in the 1997 NFL draft, the Detroit Li...err..Milwaukee Bucks select cornerba...I mean, guard...Russell "Braynt" Westbrook.

Mo isn't that great at getting into the paint but the rest is true. The guy needs a team with defenders from the 2-5 and an elite playmaker to feed off and Cleveland fits that perfectly. And the best part is that LeBron will skip town soon enough anyway so we aren't contending with a monster East conference contender for all that long. :D Lets make a deal!

that would be a great trade for the bucks, and it wouldn't be bad for the Cavs either.

I would consider doing that deal, but I would rather do it if we could get a better SG for our other expiring contracts. I think SG is the main position that we need an upgrade at. I just don't like Sasha or Wally...never have and never will.

Now if we could swing a trade for Richard Jefferson that included expiring contracts, Varejao and our 1st rounder...then I do this deal. Jefferson is a tough, defensive-minded SG and he would be a HUGE upgrade over Pavlovic or Wally.

The current team is a 26 win team. I wouldn't mind bringing in some fresh faces that are eager to play and free up some cap space earlier for a risk of -1 in the win total.
