Scola's offense

Post#1 » by Amel » Wed Apr 30, 2008 1:58 am

it doesnt really matter how much of a hustle player he is, it doesnt really matter how good he is defensively, he is a pathetic offensive player...everytime he runs with the ball to the basket I can foresee that he will loose it

his moves heve become repetative and easily see through, I dont understand why he doesnt understand it that **** he is doing does not work...

and another thing, his medium jump shots are always short, wtf dude, if they are always short, just shoot them a little stronger..

Sorry Amel, but this was a premature thread.
Scola had a rough first quarter, but he was the reason why we blew out the Jazz tonight.

18 points on 7-12 FG and 4-5 FT. I'm sorry that's not good enough for you.

He wouldn't even have to take these shots if we had Yao. Luis stepping up has been a huge reason for our success, and he deserves some credit. He has a terrific post game, and a pretty good jumpshot. His biggest weakness is his athletecism. If he didn't have the hops of an 8 year old school girl, then he'd be dominant.

18 points on 58% FG plus 12 rebounds (including 4 off) makes a poor offensive player? and that coming from a rookie to the league? wow, I'm afraid to ask what means good for you...

those numbers dont show how many poor plays he did during the last 4 games, he was mych better during the regular season, its obvious you didnt see the last few games, he did not play well, thats a fact...

your numbers are messed up, so I'll summerize it

playoffs FG% 0.372

regular season FG% 0.515

playoffs TO 2.25

regular season TO 1.28

however he is playing more minutes, but I would cut them and give them more to Landry, he is more secure IMO

here are his shots during the last 4 games

1. 6 - 15
2. 4 - 11
3. 4 - 13
4. 2 - 4

remember he is not shooter, he relies on layups and pickups

OK, have fun at doing that :D

Alternatively, you'd get that sucky player back to Spurs, that way you won't have to suffer with his poor play anymore :)

Agreed. But actually that is the encouraging part in my opinion.

Scola's game is not reliant on athleticism and yet he is pretty reliable and effective as-is. So, in spite of his age (basically in his "prime"), I think he's good for another 10 years or so since he should be able to play like that without much loss due to age (providing no injuries slow him down).

And yes, terrific game tonight!

I'm not saying get him back, I am just stating that he sucked, atleast defesively in the playoffs, He needs to improve his midrange shot and hit the layups he hit tonight
