okur can't rebound worth a sh*t. F this i'm taking randolph, and does'nt it seem like every PF or C these days is good at "stretching the defense" just wait until people start to realize that oversized small forwards will solve this problem, and the vaginafication of this league will begin to ebb.

Lol, just goes to show what you know.
Everyone and their mother knows Isiah and Dolan are the lone blame for the Knicks woes.
You can't bring in Randolph to a terribly run team and say "You - go fix holes now".
Randolph is the better rebounder and arguably the better passer (yes, believe it or not).
Okur doesn't really best him at anything. They're about equal on offensive efficiency, (although Zach is far more versatile), and equally bad defenders (maybe Okur gets a slight edge here).
Honestly, the only thing that really sets them apart is the turnovers. But Okur has the luxury of having a PG in Deron who can find him wide open.
Randolph has had Marbury and Crawford...

If lee is worth #12 then Ron is EASILY worth #5. Sooo...how about:
Malik Rose/#5 for Ron Artest.

Randolph is not the better passer. Okur isn't a great passer, but Zach is considerably worse.
Their defense isn't close. In some matchups, Okur is a good defender (over all, I'd say average). Zach is absolutely dreadful defensively.
Offensively, Zach actually probably does have more skills, but they're not that useful. You could put him in the post, but first off, he probably would move out to the perimeter anyway, and second of all, I've said it before and I'll say it again--a good post scorer really isn't that useful if he's a crappy passer, because then a double team is his kryptonite. But regardless, like I said, Zach likes to play on the perimeter anyway. And Memo is much better at this. And their scoring efficiency isn't "about equal". Compare their TS% and EFG%. Memo is more useful and efficient as a scorer.
Would Memo make the Knicks better if he replaced Zach? Maybe a little, but honeslty, not too much better. But if Zach were in Utah instead of Memo, I can say with confidence that Utah would be much worse.

^ You're just mad that the Kings have no PF...
In all seriousness though, Zach plays the EXACT same way Bosh does (most of the time). He likes to get in the post and then face up...same as KG in fact.
And yes, I can say this unequivocally Z-Bo is the slightly more skilled passer. Now whether he's as willing, well he's not. Duh.
Btw, Okur type Centers are gonna be phased out really quickly. The league is going small, soon Dirk will have to play Center...

Not true. From what I've senn from him this year, Zach is a pretty good passer, and severely Underrated. He doesn't pass, but that's a different story.

How the hell wouldn't it be close? Okus is just as bad as Zach, don't try to make like the gap is huge. I'm not even sure, that Okur is better anyway. Zach's man-to-man defense is not horrendeus. He sucks at everything else, but the same can be said of Okus also.
As for the OP: You seriously expected something else? Make a thread about Zach vs Scalabrine, and the resould would be the same. Matter of fact, the posters will just copy+past, what they typed here.

Okur is a decent defender, Randolph is a horrible defender.
Okur shut down Yao Ming in the playoffs last year when Utah advanced to the 2nd round. Not many centers are capable of that. That alone makes him a good enough defender. I'd say he's an underrated defender.
And Okur's had a horrible season this year, he played through injury most of the time and his stats just went down. Lately though he's healthy and it shows, his rebounds have gone up tremendously along with his fg,3p%, and other statistical categories.

Centers that are capable of shooting from anywhere on the field with a high percentage are really gonna be phased out, yeah right. What you said makes no sense. Okur isn't your typical center, he's a unique center. He's actually a PF forced to play the C position, kinda like Duncan. What separates Okur from every other Center is the fact that Okur shoots the 3 ball as well as any other great 3-point shooting guard.

no way in hell you say that when he's on the same team as eddy curry and jerome james. take that back!
Good point. It is ugly friend syndrome. Use that ugly friend to make your faults look better. Curry probably is more of a black hole, but they are both two of the worst in the league.
I haven't seen Jerome James play since Seattle, so who knows if he still is.

To be 100% serious. I would take Scalabrine over Zach. Without hesitation.
