Bobby J. is getting worried.
Bob Johnson, owner of the Bobcats is getting worried. He is losing money.
Since VC sells seats, How about this:
VC + Mavs pick for Richardson, Harrington + their lottery pick.
If there is a Rod and Holy Stern, with our pick we could get a top 1-5 pick and the bobcats could be top 10.
Nothing wrong with dreaming.

It doesn't matter if there is a Rod or Holy Stern. The lottery allows us to win ONE of the top THREE picks the rest is done in reverse order of worst to first.
Sheesh I can't believe how many knowledgable nets fans still don't get it!
I guess i better cut SOME guy's some slack. Cos they probably haven't seen the nets in the Lottery some have only come on board since JKIDD era began.
Can Frank coach the kids?

I don't get it?
Why is everyone so high on J Rich?
He is a less effective VC, and actually shoots more jumpers.
Not nearly the playmaker VC is either.
Bout an equal rebounder.
I know he is better, or at least faster in the transition game, and younger but sheesh.
He is somewhat injury prone himself, and not as good a defender.
Definitely not a leader or #1 guy on a team, just a #1 scoring option if that.
Contract isn't much better for an inferior player either.
I like J Rich, but I don't see the appeal evryone else is.
Now if you wanted to trade RJ for him and pair him with VC, now you're talking.
I do not like the deal getting their draft pick either, because we can probrably already move up for the 10th, Sean Williams and the 21st.
Not a bad deal, but like I said, would rather stay with VC, or trade him for expirings in a blow up move, along with RJ.
Okafor?
Awesome defender and rebounder, but always injured.
Not a good scorer, not much real post game.
Horrible free throw shooter.
A little short.
Not really an impact player unless you pair him next to a dominate post up scorer.
ALWAYS INJURED.

Assuming the Okafor contract isn't totally insane, the Nets should do this in an instant.

To me the priority is not VC or Harris or any player like that. It's finding a big guy.
Okafor may not be it. Brand may not be it. But I heard the same stuff about not trading for Gasol, and so on.
This team is going to be muddling along mired in mediocrity until it sacrifices a bit to get that big guy.

Since I started posting on this site I was always the #1 fan for getting Gasol.
He was my #2 big man behind Garnett when Brand was not available whatsoever, and at times I flip-flopped between them.(Brand and Gasol)
In fact E used to go off on me for putting Gasol ahead of JO and Marion on the wish list until one day he suddenly changed his tune.
But Okafor is not an impact player on his own.
That is how I feel, and I think he has proven it himself.

You are out of your mind once again.
I think it would be about equal in giving up assets between him and Brand, but how would Okafor would definitely be it?
I'll say it for the umpteenth time.
Non impact player.
Injury prone.
Undersized for a center, no post game to be a PF.
Why all these raging man-crushes for Okafor?!

He's played 82 games this season. Calling him injury prone based on his pass would be tantamount to calling VC injury prone now.
Non-impact player? Okafor is one of the best defensive bigs in the league. He's probably the most underutilized player in that CHA system; you've got to keep in mind he doesn't get any touches in the system he's in (10 FGA per game). He might not be a *great* post player on the offensive end, but he's progressed since his rookie year.
The main problem with his offense in the past was his efficiency, he's clearly taken care of that now. When given the opportunity by his coach he's completely dominated games. This guy can put up 20/20 games on some nights - and then not touch the ball on others. His situation in CHA was akin to VC's situation in NJ earlier this year.
Undersized for a center.... he's 6"10 and listed as a 4/5. He has the strength to stick most C's while maintaining the quickness to stick with most forwards.
The sticking point is that he's 25, chances are he's going to expand his offensive repertoire a bit more in the coming years. I wouldn't be surprised to see him peak around 20/12/2/2.5/1 on around 55% or so shooting.

Rumor is Larry Brown is going to be their coach.
Brown likes young players. and plays D. So Okafor might be a keeper.
Except for the fact that Okafor sat on the bench during the 2004 Olympics, and probably hates Larry Brown.
Also, since when does Brown like young players? Stupid coaching decision by the Bobcats. Is there some reason that Rick Carsile and Jim O'Brien don't have a job?
