Would we have swept the Jazz?

Post#1 » by McGrady2Head » Wed Apr 30, 2008 3:48 am

Would we have swept the Jazz this year if....

A. Yao was healthy
B. Rafer didn't miss 2 games
C. Head never stepped on the court

I believe at full strength we could have swept them. They might have won one game. We would either have swept them or beat them in 5

No, it would have been a 5 or 6 game series.

Sweep the Jazz? This is the team that went 7 games against the Jazz with Yao Ming. This year, the Jazz went 37 - 4 at home. How are we supposed to win 2 games on the road?

Let's not get too carried away here. And don't jinx this team.

Sweep? No way.
But I feel very confident that if both Yao and Rafer are healthy we win the series.

Hayes and co. doing a damn good job against Boozer and the PnR defense, I think with Yao we wouldn't be as good. However, Yao would help us offensively.

Prolly would have the lead in the series but I think it would have gone to 6 or 7 games.

Yes. Based on the way we've been playing this series without Yao I've no doubt we'd sweep em. ;D

Yeah, nothing is worse than watching Boozer terrorize when Yao's on the court.

hell yea

if we had Yaoza, the Jazzos would not have a chance...

the next game will be the most important one, as I said during the last few games of the regular season, we **** up loosing those crucial games, we could have knocked the Mavs in 5ve!

Win the series? yes. With a sweep? no.

Have more respect for the Jazz than that (even if many of their fans are incapable of returning the favor to a team that won more games in the regular season while missing an all-star starter). They are an excellent team, with a battle-tested coach. Its very unlikely anyone sweeps them.

This is a 'what could've been' type thread saved for the off-season.

Lock it up until the series is over.

You were healthy last year with homecourt advantage and fully healthy and the Jazz beat you in 7. Not having Fisher is not giving us consistency, but I think that you would have had a much better chance this year than last year.

Yes but last year you had derek fisher, who played GREAT D on T-Mac, and you had Giricek who absolutely slaughtered Luther Head. You lost two great players, while we added a great backup PG in Bobby Jackson, and two wonderful rookies in Carl Landry and Luis Scola.

We also didn't have a backup point guard, our 6th man was Luther Head, Chuck Hayes started at PF, and Juwan Howard came off the bench. That basically consisted of our rotation. I believe it was Alston-Tmac-Battier-Hayes-Yao-Head-Juwan-Deke.

I'm a Jazz fan and I have been really impressed with the Rockets this year. Our home split makes me pretty nervous. But I feel better about game 6 after last night's beat down. We're coming home with our eyes open and our backs against the wall to close the series.

I love "Skip-To-My-Loo." With Alston in 1 and 2, who knows? Tougher series for the Jazz for sure.

It's been a great first round matchup to watch. Houston deserves respect.

Sincerely,

Looking forward to round 2

Fisher IMO is the better defender/3 pt shooter. I haven't seen Brewer really defend the way Fisher did, also shoot the 3 ball the way he does. Then again Brewer makes up for it by slashing and attacking.

I dont think we would sweep the Jazz if we were healthy. They would still b tough at home an most likely win a game at their home.

Return to Houston Rockets
