AI should be traded fro .....
NUggets trade AI for Jason Kidd. Both are expiring contracts and get paid around the same. I think AI is a better player right now than KIdd but kidd is better for your team. He can make players like Martin and camby relevant again, he would excel is a running offense especially in that altitude he win run other teams off the court, he will get melo to refocus himself and get to that superstar level he is capable of.
I think AI indirectly has had a horrible effect on Melo. AI is a good guy but his style of play doesn't mesh with melo. Melo needs to understand that he is the best player on the team and that he needs to play like that, instead of acting like its okay to play like crap because iverson can pick up the slack. Melo needs to take all the big shots not AI or Smith.
Lets face it, the Nuggets or the Mavs arent going anywhere the way they are presently constructed and they cant blow up the team because they have too many bad untradeable contracts so aside from actually trading melo and change for Dirk, this is their only option.
Thoughts.

I think Denver and Dallas have bigger issues than just a swap of Kidd and Iverson would fix. IMO, it wouldn't help either team that much, if at all. I actually think it would help Dallas a little more because Dallas was clearly better with Harris and AI plays a similiar game with his slashing and speed.
Kidd is also clearly on the decline, while AI isn't showing any signs of it yet.
I'd probably do it if I was Dallas, but surely not Denver. It didn't work with Andre Miller and Miller is playing at a higher level than Kidd right now.

I wish Iverson would opt out and leave the Nuggets because i'm tired of reading these types of threads. The whole "who needs to take the last shot" and "who is better then who" thing is very old now. Damn, I wish AI would have stayed in Philly where he belongs. At least the crowds are bananas there and his teammates played with heart.
Either way if they are keeping Karl and can't find the right PG to compliment the team (or make a change to benefit the team), then I want Iverson gone. I don't think I could stomach another season of watching him and Carmelo struggle in this system. And Iverson needs to go to a team and organization that is commited to winning and not just taking baby steps.

In 5 games so far against Detroit, Miller is averaging 3.6 assists and 2.80 TO. It's only 5 games, but I'm just trying to find out exactly how you'd think he help, especially in the playoffs.

Ballin02 is right...
You should stop with your AI haters and wanting him gone....
Pfff...I beg AI to opt out also and to find a winning team to give hime what he deserved, he played here with a broken finger and still put basket and 2 times more assist than carter...lol...Melo has a flue is in Bed watching his girl on Mtv...
As for all of you who still did not understand , Denver did the move for Business!!!!selling jersey and seats....
By the way AI in Dallas, with Nowitkky shooting skill and Howard, they might be a killing team, AI getting inside getting the fouls and throws, Nowitzky killing 3's...Hmmm, Mark Cuban might want to do it...
Ai for sure is looking for a new 4-5 years contract 6-8million a year, following the guy in 4 years his play might decline a bit but not that much, if ihe stop its because soemone hit him really bad.
Find me a guy at his age who run, go inside and crossover like that...lol....probably no one...

Most idiotic statement I've read in a while.....maybe he should be more worried about giving us...the fans what we deserve. My season ticket money helps pay his and others salary. Did I deserve a first round exit thanks in part to him?

You all are hysterical.
AI fans.... are you only going to blame Melo and Karl for not being as successful as they can be? While playing PG the last few games...did AI try to get others truly involved in the games? Did he shoot well or make lay-ups?... Quit coping out...AI is partly to blame.
Melo fans... you are only going to blame AI and Karl for not being as successful as they can be? Who's saying they are quiting in game 3... he said he quit... YOU NEVER QUIT. He never looked ready to compete until game 4... was handled by Radman and Walton defensively. Couldn't make a layup to save his life and still doesn't have a left hand around the basket...
Other players... I don't care if AI and Melo hold the ball all day...cut and move...do your job, just because others don't...I know it's maddening, but don't compound the problem. When Melo's at the elbow, cut to the hoops...maybe he will actually pass...but if not..it would help him with the double team. Set better screens... go to the offensive boards...
Karl... Show some passion... argue with the refs more about calls...fight for your guys more... get after Melo and AI more (tough to do)... get an offensive system and expect more out of players. and lastly...play the players that should be playing now...JR Smith especially.
Kroenke... get rid of your 3 headed monster, have some accountability for the decision you/they have made...thank you for spending all that money, but lets make some off season move that make sense because signing Chucky didn't. Another 6' guard to start with AI?
Everyone in this organization had bombed this year... It was a perplexing regular season and yet they won 50 games. Imagine somehow if AI and Melo could have worked together and made each other and teammates better! Imagine if Karl would have made others accountable like he made JR? With all that said... you have to look at AI and Melo and put the monkey on their backs... they are the ones that are suppose to strap a team on their backs and take them...and they didn't show them the way. Franchise players are ones that are suppose to do that.
No matter what happens this off-season...there is alot of work to do. If the roster stays the same...which, I think it will due to the long term untradable contracts and AI probably not opting out and other various issues, it will be a very similar roster. The players have to get better and find a way to work with each other...offensively and defensively. Each has to improve their games... defensive, passing, cutting, setting picks, and should study some tape of Larry Bird and Magic and others to get a higher basketball IQ (please). Offensively, they need to space the court much better. Defensively...they all need to work on man principles and quit jumping passing lanes so much. Both AI and Melo can play better man defensive if they truly try... move your feet and stay in front of your man. The FO needs to get some pieces for this team if it stays together... and if they start a 6'2" or smaller guard with AI next year...I will scream. Next we have to pray that if Nene is here next year...that he can and will be fully healthy and injury free to see if he can live up to any of his potential.
Should be a very interesting off season...

the hard thing about that is I doubt any team is interested in trading for a 32 year old player who is a 6ft shooting guard and still hasnt learned how to play basketball the right way
lol, nice statement....by your name emb6903 you probably wanted to type your password...
well we not gonna argue on that last part....3rd selling jersey is AI...the club cash flow know what it is....AI is selling seat....Melo is selling hope, doesn 't pay...
AI should opt out asking 5-6 a year and going back to philly with iggy and now miller...lol...

actually attendence has been about the same since we traded for Iverson... atleast in Denver... ranked 17th in attendance this year, 17th last year and 15th the year before.
and what in the hell does "by your name emb6903 you probably wanted to type your password"

Half of you don't even seem like you are a fan of this team, so what are you talking about? I find it funny that some of you go around preaching about being a "Nuggets fan" when you don't even seem like you are a fan yourself with the way you talk about your own team. I made it obvious when I started commenting in this section who my favorite player was (Tim Duncan) and who my team is (the Spurs). I, like a lot of people, started watching the Nuggets closer when they traded for Iverson.
When I started reading this forum I was sort of taken back by how bias some of you are, sure you want the best for this team (I guess), but you could care less about the players and what happens with them. You act as if Iverson is the enemy, when he is a part of YOUR team. That alone makes you look ridiculous. I find it unfortounate that Iverson has played through the entire season for this team and played hard, has made mistakes (yes)...but still gets the ungreatful treatment and people saying "get him out of here" as if he hasn't done a damn thing. Why should Iverson continue to play through injury,"change his game", sign a contract for less money then what he's worth and whatever else to help make this team better..when you don't care about him as a player, where he ends up or his career? Think about then get back at me.

Yeah, thats because it seems like some fans in Denver are more fans of opposing teams then their own. Did you see all those Laker jerseys in the seats during playoffs? Or Celtics jerseys when they come to town?
Yet the Nuggets seem to sell out (or come close) to selling out opposing teams arenas when they go on the road (that only started happening when AI showed up), yet they can't sell out their own arenas? Interresting.
