If Celtics double Joe quickly tonight, who steps up?

For the sake of this poll I am assuming the Celtics overcommit to stop Joe and are successful. This should open up other players to make plays. Who steps up and makes those plays if anyone?

If I am Boston i would try to make Marvin/Chill make shots. Horford has already had games of 17,17,20 against them and Smith has punked KG two games in a row. Bibby has only played well for one half but has a history of scoring in the playoffs.

From their perspective they have to see Marvin and Chill as the weak links on offense.

We've got to get Marvin going in this game if we're gonna have a shot to win it.

I agree with Tontoz's point. If the Hawks are smart they will space the floor to make the Celtics have to go a long way for the double team and also make them more double off the player of the Hawks' choice. The other key will be the second pass of the double when the rotation comes. The offense needs to be ready to make them pay for doubling and that doesn't mean Josh Smith shooting 3s off the double team. If KG comes out for a double they have to get the second pass to the paint to force Perkins to step up on D or get into foul trouble quickly. If Rondo is the doubler then Bibby has to step up and make some open shots.

I think Bibby has to step up if Johnson gets "shutdown", he's one of the few Hawks players who can get hot from the outside and make the Celtis pay.

I believe Marvin is going to have a big game actually. I'm not saying he's going to put us on his back, but I'm expecting some good numbers all around for him, so that's me trying to stay positive about him against Paul. It should be exciting.

Joe has to move the ball quickly when he gets double and then head right to the rim if you are the outlet guy and make the defense collapse and scramble. Draw fouls, hit jumpers...whatever. Just need to move the ball quickly instead of overdribbling.

Yeah I say Marvin. I think he's been shooting well. He's just so unbalanced, always falling down.
If it counts luck is worth the same as skill

Marvin has to knock down jumpers because they're not going to double with Rondo and leave Bibby open. The other key is making quick passes that will help get the ball to the open man for an easy score.

It has to be Marvin. That is the guy they are going to leave open.

That's right, but it's also what the Celtics will think ATL will doing. The first thing they will do is to think that Bibby will shoot.
That's why I would like to see Woody working on using the wing in that kind of action. Said Joe is more on the right, and Bibby on the left, if Joe is doubled and passing to Bibby, they could try to get Childress in the right timing on the left corner. We already saw that childress can hit the 3pts if he's open on the corner. A role Richardson could play too.

Fact is Bibby will have shots, and hope this time he will be able to use this "garden Vs Bibby" to be on fire.

Something I hadn't thought about.

If Bibby nails some shots while the C's fans are shoutin at him it could really change the momentum.

Hopefully Bibby's the guy... the Hawks need his outside shooting.
