Rick Carlisle should be our coach

Post#1 » by cfan79 » Wed Apr 30, 2008 8:13 pm

He is an intelligent coach who knows how to substitute. Sure he's not everyone's best friend, but the best coaches aren't liked by everyone.

I don't like Doc either. He is a bad playoff coach because he sucks at making adjustments. And I don't think we will win a title with him as a coach. But let's not talk about coaching chances until the playoffs are over.

Hopefully, we can still win it all and there will be no need for a coaching change. Hopefully I'm wrong about Doc.

Please god not Carlisle. And this is a guy who went to the same HS as Rick. I like him as analyst. As a coach he alienates guys and micromanages.

I can't wait for the "The KG trade was a bad idea" threads to start popping up. :nonono:

This is just stupid. Doc was the coach when this team won 66 games during the regular season, biggest turnaround in HISTORY. Now, the team loses 2 road games against, by all accounts, an inferior team, yet one with like the 4th best home record in our conference and you want to replace him? Now, don't get me wrong, I think Doc made some questionable decisions during the last game, but the bottom line is the players lost the game, not Doc. I think he deserves a little more respect than many of you are showing for his role in a wonderful season already and to be calling for his replacement while the series is tied at 2 is quite sad and embarrassing.

If KG wasnt a good player it would, KG has never done too great in the playoffs but its not because of the way he played on the other hand Doc has never been a good playoff coach and in my mind it IS because of the way he coaches.

On to Carlisle, Ive wanted Carlisle since the day he was fired I dont see Ainge cutting Rivers. Maybe maybe if we lost the first round he would but we are going to the finals in my mind

If we lose this series then Doc should be fired. He has to take the front if this happened. It will be hard explaining to the owners that you just lost them a lot of money losing in the first round.

While it's way to early to talk about coaching chances, it's that stupid.
The 66 wins were great, but none of that will matter if we lose the series.
No one really questioned the job Doc did in the regular season.

Doc actuually did a great job in the regular season. But where Doc struggles is in the playoffs because he is not good at making adjustments. It's the playoffs that count and it's in the playoffs that you need to adjust better because you are facing the same team.

That being said, I hope there is no coaching change made because I hope we can come together and win it all.

Carlisle is an absolute control freak.

He has to call out the play everytime down the floor.

No fast breaks... Billups always had to turn back and see what Rick wanted.

Again, I see people looking for a scapegoat.. why don't we just let the playoffs finish guys :) I know, you're only worried about how our Celtics would fare, but if you truly bleed green, you'll have to got to trust the team and coach we now have..

Now if we indeed do not get to win, I would recommend Firing Doc then getting Tim Thibodeau, hehehe

He'd make a good Associate Head Coach if Tibs leaves.

Really I just want us to re-sign Thibs. I don't really want a buckle down coach like Rick unless we don't have help for Doc.

I'd like to get Avery though that'd be fun to whatch.

Tom Thibs get way too much credit and Doc takes too much stick. Relax, everyone!

And no, Carlisle would be shite for this team...I don't want a slow-down grind-out style of offense...do you? I like the ball movement and running we do.

:banghead: hahaha, you want to sign the head coaches assistant coach to coach the team while leaving no mind to the fact he was part of the coaching staff that lead to any untimely demise concerning the playoffs (if it happens). that's absolutely hilarious.

Get rid of Doc, everything good and golden. I remember the game that Tom "the greatest assistant coach in the history of the basketball" coached as the head coach and we needed a Ray Allen three at the end to win it when we were blowing out teams by 30 points a game during the season (remember earlier in the season). You would think once "boy genius" was able to take the helms of the team and call it, game plan it, and adjust the way he wanted we would win by 40, right? Hells no, we needed a late game three to beat that team.

:banghead:
