I think it maybe Oden. It may also be Beasley or Rose.

I'd say Beasley. Oden is gonna have to adjust to the NBA pace having major surgery and having not played a game in a long time. Rose is a pg and it usually takes some time for pgs to get minutes since they have a lot of work to do before they can execute sets the coaches want to run. I don't think Mayo can outperform Beasley.

How about we see what teams draft them and the situation they are in before we try and predict the future?

I am going with the hot hand... (3 years, 3 guards in a row) Derrick Rose will become the ROY.

A lot of it will depend on the opportunity just as much as the player.

Obviously a player who goes to Miami might not get the touches (because of Wade/Marion) that a player going to Minny might get.

Beasley or Oden. I would almost certainly say that Beasley will put up better numbers than Oden, but if Oden has respectable stats and his team ends up 12-15 games over .500 [where they finished this year] I think he will win it.

Derrick Rose. I think he will make a huge impact on the team that drafts him.

Agreed.

You have to factor in:

(1) Preseason hype (a big plus for Greg Oden, Beasley and Rose);

(2) role on new team (scoring opportunities are the biggest factor here - remember how long it was before the media dropped Adam Morrison as the leading ROY candidate?);

and

(3) Inseason exposure (Rose on the Knicks gets a lot more attention than Rose in Memphis).

Those factors will make the difference between similarly successful rookies for ROY.

If I had to guess, I would go with Oden since he will be on a successful team with a ton of hype and he has legit skills.
