What's your take for him? He had some nice games last year.Do you think he is any good and will be a part of Phoenix' rotation next year? Is he a sg or a pg ?

strawberry best comparison is raja without the 3

if he can work on his shot he has a real nice shot at being the starting SG in 3 years

I think the Raja comparison is nearest, though I see him as a PG with poor shooting...maybe a Delonte West type guy, with a weaker outside shot but better athleticism...

Thats if he's still in the league in 2 years, if he doesn't rot on the Suns bench

He could definitely have a career like Linton Johnson if he doesn't sort out that outside shot

He's definitely a Raja bell type of player, without the shot. But when Raja came into the league he was brought in because of his defense, and worked on his shot over the years and is now a very good shooter from the 3. I wouldn't be surprised if DJ turns into the Raja Bell we see today, a solid started.

He needs 2 be on the rotation next year for sure so that he learns his teamates games and develops some good chemistry, even if it's just 5 mins per game.

We need a guy that can sneak in the rotation when Hill goes down, as well as defend the quick guards of the league all the while makin the right decisions on the offensive end.

Even if he isn't a great shooter, if he can just play smart with the ball in his hands and D up hard a la Rajon Rondo, he'd make a real good backup PG that wud let Barbs play on the wings only (where he's a lot more effective).
We need somebody that can limit guys like Parker/Paul (who have been torchin us this year) and play bigtime mins when needed, and that's why we needa give him sum burn on a regular basis thru-out the season

Strawberry not ready until he gets that jumpshot in check. We put him in during scrap time and it was like he was a ghost man.

Its never easy to be sitting on the bench for so long then get in and try to hit some outside J's. He has decent form and elevation on his shot, but should really work on it this summer.

He won't get time until he can prove he can hit the shot.

I have felt that he deserved some time during the season, but MD would never play him. :banghead:

That is a really stupid remark. Play Raja for 2 mins every 10 games and EVERYONE would be screaming for Raja to develop a 3.

Not sure what's stupid about it....SDU was saying that DJ's a gritty defensive player who doesn't have a shooting touch, while Raja's a great defensive player with a great shooting touch, hence "Raja without the 3"

AND I am saying you can't compare DJ's shooting touch with Raja because that requires playing time to develop.

Simmer down, folks.

DJ has a chance to be better than Raja though, that's for sure. He's more athletic than Raja has ever been and has every chance to work on a three-ball, so as long as he gets some time and opportunity to develop as an NBA player, he will. I'm looking forward to watching his career develop.
