No, matter of fact I was just telling me friends that today. We should go after him, this seems like a great fit for him and us. But I know they wont do it.

I want Avery as a coach here too...

I came on here right now to look for a possible thread about this topic, and this is the closest thing I found to it. :(

I'm betting on Avery to Detroit if they let Flip go. Flip would be a good fit in NJ if they'd get over themselves and fire Frank.

I know he's second-best percentage-wise, but as far as I'm concerned he's the most successful coach in Wolves history. That's more of an indictment of Wolves history than anything else... if the Pistons would excited to replace Flip with Avery Johnson (who's got his own issues), what does that say about Flip's standing league-wide?

I wouldn't want him back. If we're replacing the mouth breather we should replace him with someone proven. I'd love to see Carlisle myself.

eh.. The Wolves can't keep having a revolving door, even though I'm not a big Wittman fan, We should keep him around for a little while.

We also need to be doing everything in our power to succeed in the future. I think most of us here are relatively sure Witt is not the answer, some of the players probably know it as well.

He's a stop gap. If there is a top-tier candidate that we may be able to entice, I think we would be doing ourselves a disservice not to talk to said-candidate.

I would have loved to see Flip return to Minny, but the gophs already have their man. Unfortunately I think he will always be out-coached in the NBA during the post season. I think we would be better off paying for a proven winner.
