If the Wiz let Jordan go, the Mavs should definitely jump in and get him. Kidd has a very good relationship with EJ, and the Princeton offense just might work in a team like Dallas that, aside from Dirk, doesn't have a legit and consistent scorer by distributing the ball to players.

Only problem is that you need high basketball IQ guys for the Princeton, as well as good passers. Mavs lack both of those from their players. But Dirk in the high post where pretty much all the plays run through him?

Yeah, that should maximize his talents, definitely.

So the Mavericks proceeded Wednesday with the first coaching hunt of the Cuban Era, with Nelson Jr. leading the search. Sources say Rick Carlisle will be the first interviewee, possibly as soon as Thursday, with Jeff Van Gundy also on the Mavs' list if Van Gundy shows interest in coaching next season.

Exactly!!!

Avery leaving should be the first of many changes in the off season.

If a coaching change is the only off season move, the only thing we will have to look forward to next season is the lottery pick and how high it might be.

He'd be great for our defense plus he knows he's useless for offense thus would give the ball in Kidds hands.

I have a feeling that Cuban will use that logic but Del Harris might have the edge over JVG.

Harris will basically run the defense and Kidd can be free to use his creativity on the offensive end.

Either way, they need to get the right players around Dirk and Kidd unless they choose to go the rebuild route which I'm all for.

I don't understand why you guys pick JVG over Rick Carlisle...

Simple enough:

JVG provides good D and terrible offense, the old Rockets offense is hard to watch... and you want Kidd to run the team, JVG plays half court basketball and he wants players to use the full 24 secs for every single play, he is even worse than Avery... if JVG is hired for next season, it will be disaster!

Rick Carlisle's system is balanced and GOOD! On every prospectives, he is better than JVG!

^^ Word!
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...
