I chose Hondo.
Certainly can't fault Barkley for not winning a ring, because he was a major stud (28.3/11.9/3.2 on nearly 60% FG?), but Hondo was a complete winner, whether as the #1 guy, #2 guy, or the sixth man. Plus, his defense and clutch abilities put him over the top for me.
Chuck is one of my favorite players though, so it was a tough call.

and I am still a big Barkley fan. But John Havlicek was the most freakishly atheltic player to ever play the game not named Wilt Chamberlain.

dam...this is the hardest outa all of these threads by jordansbulls. with barkley, you get a unique offensive player that was completely unstoppable. great, great rebounder, unselfish, excellent passer. His d was decent as best, but he came up with some clutch defensive plays (ex. his steal against the bulls in the triple overtime finals game in 1993.). He was also clutch.
Hondo really was a genetic freak, like writerman said. This is fact. They took x-rays of his lungs, and they were abnormally large. They needed 2 plates to fully x-ray both of his lungs. He could play whole games. and back in the 70's they'd need to post-pone games due to weather for example, so sometimes teams would needa play 3 nights in a row. Hondo would play major minutes in all 3 games, and play at a hondo-like level lol. he was, like charles, clutch, and clutch on d. He was a better overall defender though. He was an all-nba-er at guard and foward, could score, playmake, rebound, and shoot. He could run through picks for the whole game like reggie and rip due to his amazing stamina. and he could change his role: super-sixth man, starter, team leader, best player on the team.
I was gonna pick hondo, but then i keep thinking about barkley getting 40-20 games. So i still dont know who to pick. lol

Pay no mind to the battles you've won
