Monta-Andris Cost
I keep hearing they are going nowhere, but I haven't heard any real contract numbers for these two. How much do you guys think it will cost to resign them? Also anyone fear that some bad team with a lot of caproom will try to sign one of them with a crazy deal.

Ellis rumor is 6/66 that he wants. Biedrins wanted 5/55 on his extension (again, heresay). Let's get them both for 6/60 and call it a summer.
No no no . . . if you sign Monta for 6 years, he will eat your children and turn into Deshawn Stevenson.

ill play Chris Mullin:
Monta at 6/60
Biedrins at 6/66
throw in some incentives - Monta makes all-star squad $200K
Biedrins - leads league in FG% extra $500K
Both get 500K playoff bonus
Monta gets to be the last player introduced at home games and when on public tv, we "MIC" up Monta.

Lets Go Baron Davis...i dont care what jersey you put on. Lets go.
Big Smooth is focused and ready to handle the centers of the league.
Curry and Ellis will be a top 5 back court this season. 6/25/2010

Would this be the Mully who re-signed Foyle?

I think you're overpaying. $17 mil next year combined is a good guess, I'd say, with Monta getting the bigger chunk. I don't think anyone (e.g., Memphis, Philly) will break the bank for these two. And Mully has a new "show me the better offer and I'll match" philosophy.
6 years/$55 mil for M8E and 6/$50 mil for Goose?

THis is a topic I been waiting for, for a while since I have a bet with my producer at work. I say theres no way they are able to sign both and stay under the cap. I dont want to argue why or why not though. Basically my point is that Assuming baron DOESN't OPT OUT. That leaves you guys with something like 20 mil????
Remember kevin martin signed a 5 yr 55 million deal. Monta ells is going to ask for AT LEAST that same amount that means 11 million a year off the bat. SO if he doesnt get more then that thats 11 mil
(very likely he gets more) next you have to sign biedrins. I'm assuming biedrins gets big man money. So I would say probably very, very, very minimum about 8 million ( but I'm thinking more along the lines of 9.5/10 million a year)
So those 2 players basically eat up your whole cap, because baron gets an extra million or so this year. Then you have like 5 or 6 roster spots to fill since you have a ton of free agents that will leave the team either for playing time (o'bryant) or the warriors just cant afford to go over the luxury tax for players like barnes, and pietrus.
NOw I know you guys will yell at me or call me names or say something, but I have yet to seen a warriors fan explain how you
re-sign ellis ( he will get kevin martin money if not more)
biedrins ( will get 9/10 mil)
assuming baron doesnt opt out. and sign 6 players to fill your roster without going over the luxury tax? ( your owner already said he wont go into the tax)
So I would honestly appreciate a warriors fan trying to explain how this happens?
Thanks in advance.

^^This is really quite simple and if you check out a few of the other threads on this board you'll find more in-depth answers.
Anyways, even if Monta gets 12 million a year (which seems high to me), that doesn't mean he gets 12 million each year of the contract, it's just the average pay per year of the contract. So next year he'd get 9.5, then 10.5, 11.5, 12.5, 13.5, 14.5. The average of those 6 numbers is 12. Same goes for Andris, only starting at about 8 next year.

Well for future references when i say CAP I'm meaning LUXURY TAX.
I know no one stays under the salary cap, but the luxury tax which is like usually 10 million more then the salary cap is what im talking about.
HOw can you guys
a) sign your 2 young guys ( there goign to get damn near the free money you have to sign this off season if not more) I understand the elevated salary each year but still.
b) sign 5 or 6 players when ur over the tax or damn near over it?
c) field a team thats AT LEAST as good as the team last year with all the loses and less money??
I dont think the same team u had last year except players making more, ellis, biedrins, baron, - your bench + d leaguers or min vet players is going to cut it in the west.

Andris and Monta get signed either way. It's just a matter of whether the bench has some decent players or whether its Wright (or Harrington) and a bunch of minimum salary players
