Jefferson has a short contract left (i guess) and Harris is a future good PG.

New Jersey make carter and melo together with Krstic

and Denver

Harris
AI
Jeffeson
Camby
KM

Bench: JR-Nene

If it does not go next year AI so large cap space for a new superstar.

or
give Melo + Camby + AC for Jefferson and Harris
and Sign Okafor since he will be free agent this summer.

Harris
AI
Jefferson
Okafor
KM

what do you think

Carter...M. Williams...and 10th pick

Keep J.R. and let him try to blossom into a star at 2 guard and pair him with Carter and A.I. Your team could extend A.I. for 3yrs but only to a reasonable extension with a TO on the third yr to match Carter's deal. If the team doesn't produce then obviously by 2011/2012 you can dump(not exercise TO) on both A.I.'s and Carter's contracts. Bring Marcus Williams to be groomed as the future point guard. With the 10th pick draft a defensive player either at the 4 spot or guard spot (Arthur or Westbrook) tell the rest of your team to take a hike..

A.I.

MarcI
Kenyon
Carter
Smith
Nene
Hunter
Atkins
Draft Pick(Arthur or Westbrook)

So JR Smith will play 48 minutes for every game he dresses for? Doubt it, So Pietrus would be a nice backup to have.

Got Yak and Bobby Jones too. Besides, with Karl back as coach, AC will get a lot of those minutes. JR will be lucky to get 25 a game. (unless AI is traded)

Nuggets need to focus on outside shooting and a good post presence.

Man i hope Carter is gone! and pietrus has proven a lot more than yak or jones (especially on the offensive end) which means Karl would definitely play pietrus over those guys. we all know jones and Yak wont be seeing much time either way. I dunno i still wouldnt mind seeing pietrus play in denver

I think we need a crew of big guys like Detroit coming from the bench. Shooting is a bonus, but even just decent hands would be a lift.

The bigs would justify having Chucky/AC/AI combinations on the floor because we know they're gonna happen.

If we can get a PG with size that's gonna help too. Anyone but Camby at PG.

Small changes like that are gonna make the middle of the lineup that much better just in that guys that don't really do their own defense that well won't have to try and compensate for mismatches. That is our greatest weakness right now is we don't have 3 fundamental guys surrounding Melo and AI assuming we are still going Melo/AI.

I also think 2 of the 5 players with huge contracts need to go out to help bring back the right players. I mean we're talking pre-tax 20 mil to 36 mil worth of players....and the type of players we need only need to make 6-7 mil at most, maybe one expiring - we're gonna get at least 3 for 2, ease the pressure of the high payroll just enough.

AI can also opt out and resign a 3 year contract for 40 mil, which might allow us to sign one 7 mil player that makes a huge diff.

Whoever that player is can't be like Steven Hunter and sit on the bench all year with Karl saying "I was just all caught up in the first 7 players and then the game (season) was over."

Someone like Mac Dyess

There's tons of good names out there but we're just not good enough to attract those older vets willing to take a pay cut to win a championship. And I'm assuming we'll use end up using most of our MLE to re-sign JR and Eddie.

Here's a list of who I want gone sometime this offseason, in order of priority.
1. George Karl
2. Marcus Camby
3. Allen Iverson (dependent on a Camby trade)
4. Anthony Carter

I like the idea of trading Camby for Hinrich.

That leaves Nene, Kmart, and Hunter as the bigs. Supposedly Hervelle is being brought in(?), and they could re-sign Najera. Then trade AI and use the MLE to try and fill out the roster with some more bigs and vet shooters. Also be nice to grab Mike Miller somehow, he could split minutes backing up JR and Melo (lol, not with Karl as coach).

Haven't been able to figure out a good AI trade to make any of that happen yet.

How bout this trade?

After doing Camby for Hinrich.

Nuggets receives: McDyess, Damon Jones, Mike Miller.
Nuggets trades: AI, 1st.

Detroit receives: AI
Detroit trades: McDyess, Billups.

Cleveland receives: Billups.
Cleveland trades: Eric Snow, Damon Jones, 1st.

Memphis receives: Eric Snow (expiring), both 1sts.
Memphis trades: Mike Miller.

Memphis might need more, but Cleveland is getting Billups cheap, so they could add more value. Although Detroit may not want to help out Cleveland.

If it does work, leaves Denver with a lineup of.

Starting line up: Hinrich, JR, Nene, Melo, Kmart.
Bench shooters: Miller, LK, Atkins, Damon Jones.
Bench bigs: Hunter, McDyss, Hervelle(?), Najera(?).
Bench others: Yak, BJ, Green.

Then try and grab Kurt Thomas with the MLE or another good big in case Nene gets a boo boo.

That'd be a great team with the right coach, maybe a half decent team with Karl.

Just take Josh Smith off that list... that is the most depressing thing I've ever seen. Had we been fiscally responsible we could've had a young productive POST version of Camby. Damn, that makes me want to cry.

Denver would get rid of a guard to pick up 2 more forwards? Carmelo, LK, Kenyon, Miller, McDyess, Najera. 2 of them would never play.

would the Bulls really do Camby for Hinrich?

that'd be one of the biggest steals in trading history.
