That's funny ...... Both players publicly spoke about wanting to be "the man" and yet they've got something against Amare? Pardon the irony, but those two guys have little room to talk, regardless of the overwhelming sense of worth Amare possesses.
If I am not mistaken, I think you are the poster who complained about Amare's ego in the playoff. Or may be it's the other Suns fans. Either way, how can you not trade for a player who is miles better defensively, one of the best passing big men, deadly mid-range, a decent post up and most importantly, great leadership skills. I think you guys want to win now, then why not give up Amare? Yeah he is an explosive scorer, but having KG will greatly improve you team's half court offense. Think about it, Minnesota went to the WCF with Garnett, Cassell, Sprewell; don't you think you will do better with Garnett, Nash and Marion?
I think there is something going wrong between Amare and Marion. If either is gone, problem solved. Therefore, I think by trading Garnett with Amare would solve the problem IMO.
And you talk about Marion wants to be a first option, is he the first option now in Miami? The answer is no and he never will be since there is Wade, but he still seems so much happier to be out of Phoenix.

The Suns slippery slope started after the 2004-2005. The handwriting was on the wall when they got rid of effective players Quentin Richardson and Joe Johnson. They also sold off picks that eventually mounted to Rajon Rondo and Luol Deng.
They should have kept Nash-Marion-Stoudemire together for as long as possible. Adding Shaq was a waste of $ and waste of Marion's talent. You never trade for an aging star who can't do sht anymore.
Plus Kerr is a moron- he told Marion that only Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett deserve max contracts. They should have signed him to a big contract extension- after all these years, he deserved it.
- Plus I think it was Atlanta, not the Suns, who refused Amare-KG-Deal

Well, I'd say the only way it was a success was if they simply felt they had to get rid of Marion because he was killing chemistry, and there wasn't a better trade available. And there's something to this as Amare is clearly doing better with Marion gone, and Amare is the future of this franchise
However, if they mean it was a success on the court this year, they did worse than last year, while trading to get older and thus shortening their window.
So basically, the Marion trade might have been a success, but Shaq trade wasn't.

..........and I said it in my post that you replied to as well. There's no doubt Amare has en ego. That still doesn't let JJ and Marion off the hook because they demonstrated the same childish, disruptive mentality about being "the man." If you had kept up with the posts you would clearly see that a KG/Marion would not have played together. Marion wanted out. He has repeatedly made his point that the relationship was beyond repair and was a complete locker room malcontent. You think he's going to like a guy like KG coming in who's going to be barking at him all day long? Kurt Thomas would've been still been traded.
It would've been:
KG
Some Guy
Hill
Bell
Nash
I'm sorry, I'm not seeing "the next level" there.

Again, it doesn't matter. Marion felt disrespected by the organization because of how often his name came up in trade talks. He had had enough.
And you talk about Marion wants to be a first option, is he the first option now in Miami? The answer is no and he never will be since there is Wade, but he still seems so much happier to be out of Phoenix.
Technically he was the 3rd wheel on the Suns and on some nights when guys like Bell and Barbosa were lighting it up, he wasn't an even after thought. This is where Marion's inability to recognize that he's a glorified garbage man clouded his vision. Regardless, he wanted out badly and it's no wonder Miami is an attractive place to play. On that team he was obviously going to be higher up in the pecking order.......and there's one thing about Shawn fits perfectly in Miami - the night life. Shawn is a club guy. Out here in Scottsdale he's always seen at the clubs.
