What do you think
The Suns need to think about trading Barbosa and/or Diaw and getting some younger pieces.
Back up Point girds could be...
TJ Ford (Trade Diaw or Barbosa and also get a second round pick)
Luke Rinour (Trade Diaw or Barbosa and also get our number one pick we gave them in the Kurt trade)
DJ Augustin (Trade Barbosa or Diaw for a a top 10 pick, might have to throw in our Atl. pick)
Two gaurds that come to mind...
JR Smith (free agent)
Mickael Pietrus (free agent)
Bonzi Wells (free agent)
Nick Young (Trade Barbosa and Tucker and also get Antonio Daniels and their 1st round pick)
Shooters that come to mind...
Matt Carroll (Trade Barbosa for him)
Jason Kapono (don't think we could get him)
Mike Miller (It would take Diaw plus)
Let me know who else is out there.
I know that Saver doesn't want to go over the cap so I would try to trade Diaw (who may have upped his value this playoffs) and our 15th pick to a team under the cap for a top ten pick to get Augustin. He would be the PG for the future. Then maybe we can pry Matt Carroll away by offering Barbosa. Since we cleared some cap space I would offer part or all the mid level to Pietrus or Smith. I like Smith beacuse he can shoot but I love Pietrus's D. They are both freaky athletic. If we get Carrol I would go Pietrus because you already got a shooter.
Team would be
Nash, Carrol, Hill, Stat, Shaq
Augustin, Bell, Pietrus, Giricek, Skinner, Strawberry, Tucker
Future looks good with Augustin, Carrol, Peitrus and Stat and Strawberry off the bench.
This does leave us a lot of guards so maybe you can trade a Bell for like a Reggie Evens, or Tucker a lesser 4.

Trade Barbosa + ATL pick for a legit starting SG/SF
Move Bell to the 6th man position, he'd be more damaging with more rest, he can play crucial minutes with more energy.
List of guards who would be good Offensively and Defensively...
TRADES
- Mike Miller (very good shooter, average defender)
- Corey Magette (good slasher, athletic, average defender)
- Stephen Jackson (good shooter, good defender)
FA
- JR Smith (good shooter, average defender) the same type of player as Barbosa but can play then 2/3 better as he is bigger.
- Pietrus (average shooter, good defender) Good athlete can guard perimeter.
Or take a gamble..

We have three assets (pick, Barbs, min FA) to replace two spots (b PG, SG). I say we draft the best talented player (pref a G/F) at 15, trade Barbs for a starting 2-guard who can defend and is under 29 and sign a backup PG with the min FA option (Duhon?).
I really think we need to use the pick to bring in some young talent. If we moved Barbs and the pick for an established SG, there's a chance we have nothing to show in two years outside of Amare and Diaw (and no pick). We need one young talent who can start as the 8th/9th man off the bench and work his way up as he gets better this season.
I'm tired of the "go for broke" and move Barbs/picks for one more run. Maybe move Barbs for a legit SG, but keep the pick.

Simply because the board will be a mess every time we get a FA opting out/players on the block...
