Tonight's game = must win

It might only be game 6, but if we want to see our guys play with confidence in coming rounds, we need to win a game in ATL abd close out the series tonight...

It is a must win....for the Hawks. It's a "should win" for the Celtics and it would be very discouraging if they lost, but winning game 5 kept it from being a "must win". It's never a must win until you're facing elimination. I'm sure game 3 against the Yankees in 2004 was a "must win", but the Sox lost and won the world series anyway.

The Hawks have been very good at home all season, so it's not unthinkable that they have won those two games. That being said, the Celtics are still the superior team and should win it and close this thing out.

While I agree with you on the facts, I agree with the OP that to have any good feelings carry over into the next rounds of the playoffs, we need to close this **** out tonight.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Yah considering the C's are actually trying (unlike the Pistons against the Sixers), it's kinda sad that i has taken 6 games already...if we want to have any positive mindset going into Cleveland, we need a win baaad.

"Must win" is the most overused term in sports imo. There were people on our board calling games must wins less than halfway through the season.

Tonight is a must win for the Hawks. If there is a game 7 it is a must win for both teams.

Nah. Must win indicates that if you lose, you put yourself in some sort of statistical hole, where other teams have not fared well in the past. If you're down 2-0, obviously game 3 is a must win.

Even if they lose tonight (which they SHOULD not) they still have history on their side going home for a game 7.

But I get the sentiment. I just hate how "must wins" are thrown around.

Again we had the lead entering the 4th quarter and we choked it away.

It isn't surprising to me anymore with Doc Rivers at the helm of this organization.

We don't win any game in this series if we don't blow out the Hawks.
