IMO Amare's beastly year was one of the few positives of this season

If we didn't pull the switch in trading him for KG who are we realistically going to trade him for.

Sure he has his ups and downs but he's shown he gets better every year and he's becoming that franchise big man we need. I just pray he works extra hard on his D this summer.

there are a few players we could trade for amare and get equal or better value. a healthy brand or a boozer would be upgrades, and eventhough howard isnt going anywhere he is a better overall player. as for trading amare, i am not for it. he just needs to work very hard this summer on his footwork and defense and maybe his passing out of a double team. he has an almost automatic jumpshot and he can rebound. hopefully him and shaq can work together over the summer on the passing. it should not only help amare but shaq as well. it will make him stay active which means he might come to camp in shape

Sorry guys but I will not support this team any longer if Amare Stoudemire is traded this off-season. I just can't sit here and watch him become a HOF'er wearing a different teams jersey.

STAT def isn't untradable, but if Steve Kerr trades him he sure as hell better actually pull a trade that gets us equal or more value in return this time round.

The only bigmen I'd trade Amare for are Dwight or Brand, and maybe Boozer.
I'm leavin TD and KG outta the discussion since they're not goin anywhere for sure (Ya, I know Dwight prolly won't go anywhere either, but crazy trades happen at times).

Any other bigmen then those guys and we'd need to be getting a defensive swingman or a pass first PG in the package as well.

You guys want to trade Amare? you guys better stop smoking the green stuff. Amare hasen't even reached his true potential, he is freaking 25 yrs old! Lamar Odom has more Value than Amare?? Just about 5 months ago all the Lakers fan wanted to trade Lamar for Jason Kidd.

We better not trade Amare or else the Suns orginazation is going to be kicking themselves for years. Amare has improve his game every year and every game in the Spurs seruise he grew as a player. Amare will become a better defensive player..Book it!

I wouldn't trade Amare away for anyone expect eaither Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett because they are equal talent or a little more, Amare will be the franchise player once nash and shaq are gone and it will be good build around him. Also when Amare contract is up Sarver better not be a cheap sob and not pay the money he wants

fools who want to trade him can join the list of all the other fools who are proposing dumb things now

I wouldn't be a SUNS fan anymore if the the Suns trade AMARE STOUDEMIRE unless we get someone like Jamesor D. Howard.
That would be the dumbest thing we could do! Stoudemire is a HOF type of player and he is still only 25!!! WAKE UP!

Trading STAT for Dwight would be a zillion times smarter then trading Marion for Shaq

That would be the dumbest move of all the dumb moves the Fo has done. He is our present and future.

Seriously though,

The only way I will trade Stoudemire is if it HELPS the Suns now and the future... basically a better deal for the Suns... obviously.

I'm thinking..

Brandon Roy + LaMarcus Aldridge type of deals..

A no brainer deal basically.

Someone mentioned Dwayne Wade... not bad, but not without re-shuffling the starting lineup..... too much effort.
And lol, Shaq and Wade....

Another idea would be a Kevin Martin + Ron Artest deal.... basically... impact players that are young and will be a Sun for the next 5 years...

Again, I follow the team first then.. the players... so what ever is good for the team. If its Stoudemire then so be it.. but if an offer comes up that makes the Suns better... I dunno how some here can say they're Suns fans if they dont support beneficial moves for the team.

There is no way we trade Amare because we wouldn't get enough to make the deal worthwhile. Same goes for Nash.

Like it or not, we are going with a core of Diaw, Amare, Nash, Bell and Shaq for the next two seasons and nothing will change that unless we sell a player for 50 cents on the dollar. Heck, we don't even have any picks we can move to sweeten deals.

Yes i think we are staying with our main core. Like u've said we don't get equal value for Amare and Steve. Shaq and likely Diaw are untradeable because of their contract. Hill is definitely a keeper with his contrac.Bell is likely a keeper with his solid contract. DJ and Tucker going to stick with the suns.
Barbs should get traded along the ATL pick?!?!?

The Kurt Thomas trade really sucks..2010 1st round pick unprotected!!! Damn it. who could u do such a dumb trade!

Shaq is a keeper...lol but I'd gladly keep Nash, Bell, Boris and Amare...

While I'm starting to think Amare is a fool's gold...a highlight reel, but not a winner because he's not totally buying into the team concept..but I still believe we need to keep him. He's still a top 5 dominant big man in the league, although only on offense. And we keep Raja too, his contract runs through 2010 but he's exactly the role player every team needs. And he plays D. We just hope we can somehow limit his minute to about 30-33 mpg to keep him fresher.

Boris is the 2nd most technically sound player on the team and probably the smartest player on the team. He has shown again and again he is better as a starter, there's not logical reason not to start him. START HIM THE REST OF HIS LIFE. The only way we are going to get anything out of him is if we load him up with responsibility. That's the only time he responds. START HIM PLZ.

Given the difficulty of moving his long contract, his probable upside (still young), and his ability to actually defend the 3,4, and sometimes 5, I'd say he SHOULD be kept.

I like Diaw! No really, I do. It is my humble opinion that having both him and Amare just will not work. The reason is he is not a 3, he is a high post 4.(Yes the mismatch worked a couple games against the spurs, but it won't work for 82 games). The reason he doesn't succeed, is because Amare is a high post 4 as well. So what it comes down to is...trade one of them. I certainly can see Diaw averaging 15ppg 7rpg 6apg playing 35 min per game. Amare could average 28, 10 and 2.5 blocks. It would seem the decision is an obvious one. However, if we could put together a package for a Wade, or Richardson/Wallace pick, or Deng/Thomas pick, or Bogut/Redd/Villanueva (we include Barbosa), or Jefferson/Brewer, Aldridge/Roy (include Barbosa)....I could see trading Amare. I think we wouldn't lose a beat offensively, and we would improve team chemistry.

If we trade Diaw, we almost certainly have to trade Leandro and/or ATL pick to get anything of value. We could possibly get Artest with Diaw, and ATL. I highly doubt it though. And if we trade Diaw, and Barbosa together for one really good player (RJ) we run the risk of having too short of bench.

It is certainly tough, because you want to believe that a training camp will make these guys better. But the realist in me tells me we need to make some changes in the locker room. And I am not talking about D'Antoni.

Amare will become a better defensive player

Can you give me an instance when a player going into his 7th year in the league, out of nowhere, became a good defensive player? I mean this sincerely! Please give me some hope that it has happened before. I can't think of one.

Blazers can be a sleeper trade partner.

-They want veterans and do not need anymore high lottery picks, well they rather trade it for a veteran.

Brandon Roy is untouchable unless its for a franchise player.. as HE IS there franchise player.

But, I would do a Jarret Jack + Blazers pick for Barbosa.
