Does this series save Mike Woodson's job????
He has helped Atlanta beat the Celts 3 times and need one more to win the series which would be the biggest playoff upset in sports history (I think). The Hawks are young and now this team is reaching its' potential. Will Woodson stick around to help the team grow if Atlanta loses in game 7?

Why the hell did he put in a hobbling Marvin Williams when we jsut needed someone to play honest D? Bone headed moves like that are what Mike has been doing all year.
His contract is up. The ASG is not going to give him a 3-4 year deal...fire him and then eat the remaining years. Billy Knight has tried to fire Woodson multiple times this season alone and they wouldn't let him. I suspect the Hawks will get a new GM. I hope we get a new coach but I've been a firm believer that BK has to go(although I still feel Woody is imcompetant)since the 2006 off-season.
The good thing is that it looks like theres no way that both will be back. BK really made it seem like Woody was an idiot at the town hall meetings(when it came to overusing the starters) and they apparently don't communicate with each other anymore.

His job is very safe right now, I assuming. If the owners would go out of their way to keep him from being fired after how this team perform this year. I see no reason why they would fire him now for taking the best team in the regular season to a game 7. I tthink BK is job is very safe as well. It will be up to whether BK want to stay. Considering he may not get another GM job elsewhere. He will likely remain.

A blowout won't cost Woody his job
I think he has guaranteed a return to the bench. He gets a one year extension which is all he should get and will have to prove himself early next year.
As for Billy Knight, it will be another 'shock the world' scenario if he would leave on his own and get another NBA GM job.
Not that he has done the worst job, but his power has been diminished and he should be let go on that reason alone.
Woody might have already earned another year prior to tonight, and I am bittersweet about it. I thought this could be Woody's last game as HC. No doubt in my mind now he's back at the helm.
I don't think the coaching staff goes unscathed though. There were rumblings last year.

Raps fan here...was watching the game and just wondered why the crowd did not have a unified color (ex. raps sea of red). Is it due to the fact that it was a close race for 8th and management did not have time to plan these events out or is something we can look forward to seeing in future post season runs?
Lets to Hawks!

BK needs to be gone.. Woody deserves to stay. I mean what else does the man have to do to prove he deserves to keep his job? Alot of you guys have personal reasons for firing woody and thats not right. He's been with most of these guys since their rookie seasons and they have grown together, them as players and him as a coach. He deserves to come back.

i heard that some players are not in favor of Woody, but i don't know if that is true. Woody is not Larry Brown where his record out shines his player relation..... management need to talk to Joe and Josh and take their opinions seriously
Never ask the players

If you ask me, if the players don't like him, then I keep him at the helm.
Time to get away from players running the asylum.
You think Byron Scott is loved? Put your blinders on and say okay.
I wouldn't care if I was liked or not.
If Woody isn't putting them in position to win, then what will they think under a different regime.
Be careful what you wish for in a HC. You might end up with a worse situation than what you are in now.

My opinion for what its worth is Coach Woodson now has the confidence of his players. They believe in what he has been telling them. The reason I say this is not because they have the series tied at 3 a piece but that they were able to come back from being down with there defense. (a Larry brown quality)
At times it seemed Boston would just find it easy to get where ever they wanted on the floor... When the Hawks made their runs Boston never had an easy basket.
