Who are some tough players we could get?

Post#1 » by BMiller52 » Sat May 3, 2008 10:32 am

I remember Reggie said he wanted more tough players and that Ron was basically the only one we had. Who are some more we could get??? Here's an idea I had:

Miller to Det for Maxiell/McDyess

Max is a little short but he's got ridiculously long arms, very good shotblocker, has great quickness, is a great athlete, is smart, and is VERY strong. What do you guys think about him?

For the draft when I think of a tough PG I think of Russel Westbrook. Not sure of the big men we could get that are tough.

Nene's value is down but he's a pretty tough big man. Still only 25 and has a nice post game.

Name some guys we could go after. I think the 1 error if any in the 02/03 Kings were that we lacked toughness. I know Petrie's trying to recreate a team with passing and team work, but I think we need to include some toughness like Reggie wanted. Because being able to outmuscle and having mental toughness will help you in the playoffs vs teams like LA, Utah, Spurs, etc. 1 of the reasons the Suns can't get over the hump.

He said tough, not stupid.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

If Detroit gave up Maxiell, that would be dumb.

Well, I think given the chance Sheldon Williams can be tough.

A big man I think is tough is Reggie Evans. I like his grit and heart really showed me something against the Pistons.

As far as the draft goes I'll say it now the Kings need to make a move either late in the 1st or early 2nd to get Joey Dorsey. He's tough and the type of big man the Kings need but have never really had. Well, maybe Pollard but Dorsey is rugged and tough like Pollard but way more athletic. He would be the perfect backup to Hawes.

Hawes is pretty tough from what I understand. Don't really know of any "tough" players that would fit into the direction we will hopefully be heading.

I think our first priority should be to obtain nice young talent and purge some of the older players on the team. Once the team is in a position to compete in the playoffs in the future, then we can always add tough complementary players. This isnt something we should be focusing on at this point.
Interesting, you have some ideas you would like to bounce off Brian Sabean? That's strange, I have some objects I would like to bounce off Brian Sabean.

Dude honestly I wish we could have a guy like Brandon Haywood as a backup center, another BIG body down low, 7ft+ who can play nice defense, Reggie Evans comes to mind as well, or how about... Steven Hunter? If it wasn't for his injuries, he would be a very good defensive player, can rebound, block, just injured toooo much.
