They should of picked up Larry Brown and fired Doc.

Doc is just a terrible coach. The series against the Hawks should of been over in 5

Well, this would rank as a top three for playoff-chocks. Perhaps #1. Boston win 29 more regular season games. Atlanta is seven games below 50%. Boston is the last Eastern team not to advance.

I think this would be the biggest playoff upset in the NBA, with the Dallas GS series ranked second, and then the Sonics losing to Denver. That was a big deal but it was only a 5 game series.

I think it is the NBA's biggest upset even if Atlanta don't win out just because they forced that mighty Celtics to game 7. I mean everyone including myself had the Celtics sweeping the Hawks considering how the two played the regular season.
Could the age of the Celtics be hurting them now after a long season. Garnett isn't all that young this was his last real chance at being on a winning team and going all the way.
There are going to be a lot of "experts" talking about this series and the Celtics showing that they can be beat.

I just read the Boston forum and one of the more popular threads is firing Doc Rivers.
They do have one thread about who should get the cigar for the best job this series and I posted that they should give a cigar to the Atlanta Hawks team. Hey who thought they would push the mighty Celtics to game 7 I know I didn't.

It's the crappy coach fight of the century, but Doc has a COTY award to show off, thanks to our heart & hustle team.

Horford is the man, btw.

Best record in the NBA vs a losing team - should have been over in 4. Yet it does go to show once again that you can peak to early and hammering a record out in the regular season can mess up a playoff flow.

I do find it amusing that a team that overall showed very little humility during the season considering they were 1 year ago one of the worst NBA teams around; is stuck in the only round 1 series left running.

Would he be the first 66 game winner to ever get canned?

LOL.

Even if Boson wins the series on Sunday they have been severely exposed. They even had a mini collapse late in the 4th. A true 66 win team shoudlnt be having collapses against a 37 win team. LOL at Boston and Doc. We always knew he sucked.

couldn't have happened to a more deserving coach. it makes me happy to see him exposed for the fake he is. i hate Doc Rivers with a violent passion that has subsided slightly over the years to an angry rumble.

The Mod's on the Boston Forum have taken the sticky off the thread Victory Cigar Poll.
I was the last post saying that they should give a cigar to the Atanta Hawks.
I did mention that I had predicted in my pool that the Celtics would sweep.
I guess they are so disgusted with the way their team is playing they just gave up on that ideal.
You should read how many of them want Rivers out. lol Sounds like the Magic last year and Brian Hill.

I am more impressed with Atlanta than disappointed with Boston. They have some amazing talent and with Bibby running the point are actually dangerous. It seems that it is superficial and home court dependent, but if anything I think this is a semi coming out party for them. A Hortford/Smith front court is da bizzness.

strangely enough it's Bibby and Miller, two PG's that some on this board (*cough*lovehoops*cough*) weren't sure of and thought lacked a winning spirit. they've both taken their teams to another level of play that was previously beyond them.

Return to Orlando Magic
