Parker, Duncan, Ginoboli are all top 3?
Players at there position. I have Parker a top 3 PG. Ginoboli a top 3 SG. Obviously Duncan a top 3 PF still. If not the best PF to ever play the game. We all talk about the big 3 in Boston or other cities. The Spurs big 3 seem to be completely overlooked. Most likely because they play less minutes than most superstars which means less opportunity to put up the gaudy stats. Do you think that the Spurs big 3 are all top 3 players at there position right now?

Duncan is #1..
Ginobili is a hard one to place..his inconsistency makes it difficult to rank him..IF HEALTHY, Wade is ahead of him..Kobe is obviously ahead of him..I'd put T-Mac ahead of him as well, so he's in the top 5, but not 3 IMO..
Parker is close..Paul and Williams are definitely better..then you have to throw in Nash, Billups, Baron Davis..

Its amazing how being guarded by Steve Nash for a series will raise your stock.
Parker was rarely guarded by Steve Nash.
I would take Parker over Deron Williams. Parker doesn't get the assist that Deron gets but he does his damage right in the paint.

Tony Parker was finals MVP against the Cavs (good defensive team at that), Steve Nash is a bad man defender, but maybe this also had something to do with Parker himself and how tough of a match up he is because of his speed?
Ginobili in the PO is behind Kobe, Wade and TMac, but only because of the team oriented offense he plays in, the guy just lives for this kind of stage.

there's no way Parker is better than Deron Williams..I love TP, but he benefits a lot from Duncan's attention, and it's apparent when Duncan isn't playing..
Williams is a game controller..he's a better passer, more versatile player IMO, much better shooter..I'm not familiar with his defense, but TP's is average IMO, and I'm guessing Williams is around there too..
Parker is better than most people give him credit for though..he doesn't average as many assists as he could because of the system, so he's actually a better PG than a lot of people make him out to be..

If McGrady is bringing it like he did yesterday I would take him too. How often is that however. Tmac shot 41% this year and had a TS below 50. Tmac PER this year was 18. Manu was 24. His TS% was over 60. He shot over 40% from 3 when Tmac can't get over 30. Manu has been pretty much outplaying Tmac for a while now.

You could say the same about Deron with the attention Boozer receives. The rest is true but I would rather have TP ability to get right to the rim than Deron jump shot.

As everyone has said Duncan is the best at his position, Manu is a superstar talent however he bought into the team game and has won more rings then any of the previously mentioned so called better players then him. But on the flipside he does have a very good point guard beside him and the best power forward in the game to help him out so that also has to be taken into account for the most Manu is top 5 in everyone books based on an overall look, but come playoff time i would rather have him with the ball then any guy not Kobe or Lebron.
As for Parker i think he is top 3, not because of his last series although that has to be taken into account. He is a great player he is fast gets in the lane with the big guys, and does alot of damage and his jump shoot is money this year. He isnt better then Deron or Paul but he is in my book better then Nash. I might get flamed for that but i just dont want a guy on my team that is a liability on defense. When i look at point guards i look for everything which includes defense and Nash simply doesnt play it. Parker is not on Nash's level when it comes to dishing the ball out but we can all argue thats because of the system, however i still believe that he is teh better passer, scoring wise Nash has a little edge but it can be ignored. So based on that i would take Parker 9/10 times because he will hurt you inside he will go into the lanes and cause problems, and play some defense while he is at it. Nash just is not that guy, he plays most of his game outside the arc. So defiantly Parker is my top3 so is Duncan, Manu isn't but it doesn't really matter whether he is top 3 or top 5, it wont matter come playoff time.
In conclusion they are all in the right place to maximize their skills, and defiantly benefit from playing with each other. Everyone needs a supporting cast to win something, but not only a supporting cast but the right supporting cast and in San Antonio they have it with these guys.

What does doing damage in the paint matter? Shooting spaces the floor. Deron had a better FG%, 3FG%, FT% in the regular season and in the playoffs this year vs. a better defensive team.

lol at the deron fans
didnt parker post nearly the same stats as him in the playoffs last season h2h?
deron william fans just hate the fact that his not getting much media attention this season cause cp3 had a breakout season, and parker getting some credit where its due.

AJ:"I'm Western Conference," he said. "I'm Popovich. I'm for him, for Texas and for the Spurs."

Obviously tim duncan is top 3. Ginobli is somewhat close but they're prolly 4 or 5 guys ahead of him.
But parker? He's barely top 5, if that. Paul, Billups, nash, Williams, Davis are all better than parker. And I know that Arenas was hurt this year too, but when healthy he's better than Parker as well.
Parker is a quick guy who finishes very well, but has an inconsistent jump shot at best and isn't the best free throw shooter either. He's a great scorer in the paint, but he's barely top 15 in pg's in assits and he's playing with arguably the best pf of all time.
The suns team defense, not just Nash, has a nasty habit of making people look better than they are. Parker is a good point guard, but no way is he top 5, let alone top 3.
