If You get the Top Pick Who Do you pick?

The Hometown Boy- Rose
The Manchild PF-

Presume that you can get another lottery selection for Conley and acquire a bigman to replace beasley.. what do you do?

If and only if we know we can trade Conley, then you take Rose.

the assumption is that Conley will garner a lottery pick from Indiana, Portland, Chicago, or Los Angeles

This is a no-brainer from a Memphis perspective. If the Grizz can end up with Rose, season ticket sales would go through the roof.

You think that They would take Rose, despite having Conley, Crittenton and Lowry though? I know you could probably get a late first for Crittenton and a lottery prospect for Conley... In a sense, though, this would allow the Grizzlies to build their team around Rose through the draft.

I just don't see Rose having as much of an affect due to being a Tiger as much as people want to believe. This is where I hope we finish second so the decision can be made for us.

I sort of think that Memphis needs this type of situation though.. like you just trade Gasol for trash basically (crittenton is a good prospect), and the team isnt saying much at all. Getting Rose would bring the team into the limelight as the NBA will want to market their new face of the new star.. They Have probably 5 guys to lead the new era of the NBA and Rose will be one of them (Rose, LeBron, Wade, Howard/Oden, Paul).

Similar to how they loved the carter/tmac/kobe rivalries that they played up incessantly, they will do the same with the Paul/Williams/Rose rivalry which will be the top 3 point guards for the next 15 years.

Waaaay too soon to put Rose in that first category. Let him get in the league for a couple years before saying that.

What makes you think beasely wont be apart of that? I would take Beasely because we need frontcourt help. If we got another point guard, we would have to go through the motions of him getting use to the offense. If we just keep Conley, who got better as the year went on, we can move forward instead of backwards. I would like a line up of conley, miller, gay, beasely, darko.

beasley is very soft for a nba pf . i think rose is winner and much more true for memphis we have a prospect for a superstar in SF and we need a co-star for a contender team. I think this is Rose (or maybe conley) . I like a 5 like this

Rose
Miller
Gay
Warrick
Darko

only addition of Rose is make this team a contender with smallball

I doubt that Beasley is softer than Gasol. And that starting five is a guaranteed under-30 win team.

You would get a Kevin Love, DeAndre Jordan, Roy Hibbert, Darell Arthur, etc if you traded conley for a pick between 5-13

and the rhetoric about learning the offense, please... You can learn an offense in a few days, perfect it within a couple months.. look at your best scoring offenses, they are often formed with new pieces, look at the warriors, suns, magic, raptors.. all new point guards brought to their team.

my thing also with a lot of what people are saying is that you do want to win less then 30 games.. Say you got Rose, Gay, Miller, Love, Darko and that team is good for the top 5 worst and you are in the same situation as last year, you draft Mullen,Derozan, or Griffin

And your team looks like
Rose
Derozan
Gay
Love
Darko

or
Rose
Gay
Miller
Love
Mullen

or

Rose
Gay
Miller
Griffin
2008 Center-hibbert/jordan

Losing is good. Seattle Supersonics are probably the best team at developing their team right now. They have a plethora of prospects and are about to acquire their third bluechip prospect to go w/ Green/durant.. They will be a very tough team..

we would be smart to go with a team that had Rose,Gay,Derozan or Rose,Gay, and Griffin

Rudy will be better than Carmelo
and Rose will be better than Wade

so this IS a contender!

If you're talking about contender for the #1 pick next season than I agree with you.
