What you guys would want for Barbarosa?
Is there anything outside of Okafor , Richardson, Wallace, Felton and our 8 Pick the suns would be inerested in?

I'd move Barbs for a legit starting 2-guard who's athletic, can shoot and defend.

How much TPE will CHA have once they take care of Okafor?
If the Suns can handle some of their needs elsewhere, I could see Sarver (not the fans) shipping him off for a TPE and the #38. The posters are right though -- a replacement for the important Barbosa would need to be on board, and if Felton and the #8 are off limits, CHA doesn't have it.

Because you revolted after the Kurt Thomas trade?
Because you revolted after the Shaq trade?
Because you revolted after the first round exit?
Look, Sarver was trying to save money when you were a top 2-3 contender for a ring, so I see no reason he would fear "fan revolt" if he moved Barbosa's 4-year deal.

They won't move Barbs simply because Sarver is cheap. Barbs has a really good contract and is well worth the money he gets paid. Maybe they move Diaw but not Barbs. Unless they trade Barbs for a top 8 pick (maybe throwing the 15th with it), it would be a bad trade.
As for Sarver being cheap, the Spurs cut costs and such to keep under the luxury tax but nobody ever points that out. Meanwhile the Mavs have a huge payroll and they loss in the first round the past two years. Throwing money at players never wins championships. In fact it probably prevents them because you need up overpaying for somebody that doesn't really deserve it.

I understand you like Barbosa, but unless his last name is Ginobili, getting a lottery pick for your $6 mil sixth man is not likely to happen. People over-value picks, and the salary savings makes it a half-price risk anyway. You'll notice that the OP won't even consider including Felton or the #8 in the deal.
I agree with this, and the Knicks are living proof that simply spending money doesn't win you anything -- you need to be smart. While its easy for me to say since I'm not a PHO fan, I also don't begrudge Sarver for trying to get under the lux either. Everyone calls him "cheap," but he was willing to go ovr the lux and pay double on some of the salary when he thought PHO was close. Many owners wouldn't, and right now, I think 24 rich owners have their teams under the lux. However, paying double and losing the lux bonus is a lot of money.
I also want to point out this is no knock on Barbosa, who I think is a terrific player. He is certainly worth $6 mil. Unfortunately, if Sarver turns a deal for the TPE down, he's paying him $12 mil, and I hope we can all agree he's not worth max deal money. I agree with you that he'd prefer to move Diaw, but if that's not possible, I don't think from what we've seen of Sarver that getting a TPE and a cheap high 2nd is out of the realms of possibility for him.

Im sorry shrink, but I don't think you see Barbs value in this league. Hes certainly worth more than 6 mil due to what other ok players are getting now days. The guy defently could be a starter and would have been paid more in the open market if he wanted to.
Barbosa is a huge scoring spark off the bench most of the time. But with Nash and bell, barbosa does not address our needs besides speed and shooting ability. Hes not a backup PG, too small for a 2. Has horrendous D, low b-ball IQ, one tack mind that in a way is a scoring machine. Outside of Wallace, Okufor, J-Richs overpaid contract, you would have to give us a young piece that is good, and a high pick for barbs. Your not going to get barbs for crap like you guys think you can get.
I will let Petbull come in and give his take why Barbosa is greater than MJ himself.

Thanks. If I'm reading this right, your main objective is a back-up PG. I thought he had a lot more value than that. Dalembert on the other hand is a starter for Philly & would probably bring back more value than Barbosa, especially since Philly wouldn't have a center without him. He also would add too much money to Phx' payroll.
yeah, you

Props to the great one

I didn't say he wasn't worth $6. I said he wasn't worth $12, which is where a max deal starts.
Are you saying he's worth $12 mil, which would be what Sarver would be turning down by not swapping him for a TPE and a 2nd?

We don't know what the cap figures will be yet but I don't think we will be a full 6 million over the luxury tax threshold. That means we would save 12 million. It would be something like 10.5-11 million. If Barbs was on the open market any year but this year, some team would be willing to pay him 10 million.

By this logic, every player on the team is $3-4 mil more because the Suns figure to be around $74 million by the time the season starts. I'm guessing the Suns are OK with being a couple mil over and if they aren't, they won't sign Pike2 or Marks2 for $2 million deals, they'll simply add 400K unsigned rookies.
Right now, they are slightly under $70 mil with Nash, Barbs, Bell, Shaq, Amare, Hill, Diaw, DJ and Tucker under contract. You sign the #15 pick for the $1.8 mil and bring 2-3 min FAs (maybe even under $1 mil for one). That's puts them at around $74-$75 mil. I'm guessing the cap will be around $71 mil which puts them $3-4 mil over. If staying under is a big deal, they won't sign vets for the final 3 spots and instead go with $400K guys.
