Say in the offseason we get Smith or Okafor does that change your vote on who has a batter young core?

I don't want Smith anymore, like several other posters have stated.

If we got Okafor, we'd be miles ahead of the Hawks. That is if Okafor can stay healthy.

I think we do a better job of drafting, and making pieces fit, than the Hawks do, so that would also play it's part.

I never really thought about that. I think Atlanta definitely has the advantage on us at this point. They weren't able to do that much with it during the season, but they're close to the biggest upset in NBA history, so who knows...But I think that after the off-season, the Sixers will take the upper hand.

I think if we had Bibby and they had Andre Miller, they would be a much better team than the Sixers.

That has something to do with how good of a pg Miller is, but also points to Atlanta having more talent.

Once again , I think we as sixers are overvaluing our talent. Thaddues will be a nice player who will execute well and play hard. But can you see him better than a guy like Al Harrington or JOsh Smith. I think his problem is his body doesn't match his game. He's a tweener. Trade him when his value rises . His skill set just doesn't say Superstar or all star . Maybe he'll be as good as JOsh HOward one day

Your assessment on Thaddeus Young is all wrong.

Young has a higher b-ball IQ than Smith, doesn't take away from the flow of the game, and has a good skillset, that left handed hook is something special.

Josh Smith is an athlete, who has a poor shot selection, and plays good defense.

those things do not an All-star make . Shane Battier has a high basketball IQ and he will never be an all-star. JOe Smith has a high basketball IQ , he's no all star. Thad has to improve his perimeter game , his handles and become a three . All those people talking about him being a power forward ............... Unless he grows two inches this summer and bulks up he will forever be a tweener . Best Bet , Antawn Jamison

So a guy who has a career average of nearly 20/8, isn't an Allstar or good enough in your mind?

Young is a prototypical SF. All he needs to do is improve his handles. He's only 19, and already possesses an unblockable hook shot, lightning quickness, as well as a good head on his shoulders. He has an incredible work ethic, and is able to pick up on things quicker than most players. Most people have given up on the dream of him playing PF. If he's 23, and still only averaging about 15 ppg, then yes I'll agree that he has been overrated by our board. Until then, just wait and let him develop.

Thad will never outjump Smith, but he looks like he'll be a better SF than Smith.

...that being said, I hope Smith has a triple double today and they knock the Celtics out of the playoffs today!

I think Young is overrated by this board right now.

He's a good looking rookie who came in and made an impact. His ability to sneak in time at the 4 allowed the Sixers to play the uptempo game that changed their season.

But the stuff I'm hearing about future superstar and better than Josh Smith? Way too premature. Young isn't better than Josh Smith right now.

If Thaddeus works at it, he can be the next Clyde Drexler.

Thad might become a 20+ ppg star. That doesn't mean there is a guarantee, and he might just end up being "only" a good NBA starter.

But if you have a young player with a legit shot at being a star you just cannot trade him. No one will give you a proven young star back, and if you trade him away and get burned you have crippled your team.

No, Young isn't better than Smith now, but I think most of us are excited about what Young will be @ 22, compared to what Smith is now. I think what Young has shown @ 19 makes most think with 2 years of growth, and 35 minutes a night, he'll be a 20+ppg performer.
