More free agents we can look at

Post#1 » by kamaze » Sun May 4, 2008 12:05 am

David Harrison- a big body if we don't resign Gana Diop. (could come cheap)

Delonte West(pg)- He'd be a great backup (but Rat would have to pay up)

Quinton Ross(sg)- a good defender (would come cheap)

Ronny Turiaf-would add toughness

Maurice Evans

Randolph Morris-big body, there could be something there (cheap price)

Keyon Dooling-defensive pg

Gordon Giricek-outside shooter

Lorenzen Wright

Carlos Delfino-good 2guard

What do you guys think? Which guys should Thorn go after?
I got the burner-Kevin Durant

everyone on that list is fine except giricek and wright. I would only go after a pg if we trade marcus. I think we should go after Kareem rush also.

Don't especially like any of these guys.
All scrubs.
Rod already said he isn't resigning Diop if anyone makes a competitive offer.......GOOD.
I would take Turiaf but he isn't gonna be cheap enough for Rod, and he's not that special a player anyway.
I take Wright or Harrison as a big body for the minimum, but it's not like they get me excited either.
West, way to expensive.
Giricek, much rather have Boki.

I prefer Fred Jones, James Jones or Jarvis Hayes.

Even though I hate him with a passion Carlos Delfino is the shooter this team desperately needs.
West could be great for this team if Boki and Diop sign somewhere else.

Harrison is a crackhead would mess up the team's chemistry, shouldnt sign him

runny turiaf=magloire, will end up warming the bench, mags was suppose to come in and give tuffness didnt happen

our roles players are more than capebale, but we need a Jermaine or Elton, a frontcourt of Boone and Kristic isnt gonna get us a title......

Other than Delfino, no one on that list intrigues me. Actually, no player mentioned in this thread is appealing.

Dooling would actually would be a good fit as the BU PG if we are planning moving MWilliams.

I would take Delfino over Boki!!!!!!!!

Harrison can also play good role as a big body!!!!!!!!
The "Turnpike" deserve a NBA championship!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well they looked like they liked each other , they just didn't play well . Add a troublesome scrub ( Harrison it not more ) and it'll be worse.

Marcus Williams will probably be traded he's a headcase definitely not a leader as a point guard should be.
Dooling's a good defender who knows his role as a backup.

He's had various drug problems and was suspended for a couple of games this year for violating the league's drug policy... He's also the idiot who threatened to Kill Matt Bonner.

Harrison is basically a hothead who has some serious off the court problem (from a substance and anger standpoint).

He also fouls people at an incredible rate (this year for example he only played 12.8 mpg and averaged 3 fouls per game!*)

*This isn't a one year trend either:

I don't know who the Nets would / could offer... But I would love to have Juan Carlos Navarro on this team, he's a restricted free agent so some sort of sign and trade would have to be worked out...

In general though it's kind of hard for me to say who the Nets should go for since I don't know exactly what they're doing right now. Are they going to package assets and look for a big upgrade somewhere on the roster? Are they going to rebuild (and get rid of Vince or RJ)?

Quinton Ross intrigues me...he's a Bruce Bowen-type, good defender for the backup 2/3 spots.

Dooling is a shooter who doesn't shoot consistently, but I'd be okay with him as a back-up for his energy...if we trade Marcus.

No one else on this list is very appealing.
Walk away from this ASAP.
