Cs going to be emotionally spent game 1 cleveland?

Post#1 » by GonzoLays » Sun May 4, 2008 7:35 pm

We have only one day recovery time to get all hyped backed up for a rested Cleveland team. Should be a tight first game at the Garden. Thoughts?

They'll be fine. No starter played the 4th. Also, the game was over quickly, so very little emotional energy was used. Cleveland will be tough regardless.

No, another game adn this team tool Atlanta for granted there was no hatred for Atlanta. But PP doesn't like JAmes and the traded palyers makes this much more of a personal battle. C's will be ready to play and they just learned a big leason.

Not worried about an emotional letdown at all. KG is intense enough to keep the team motivated, and I think that's spilled over to the entire rest of the team.

If anything, I think the troubles in defeating Atlanta will spur them on even more against these later opponents.

i think it's ok

Atlanta got 4 or 5 players that almost played like Lebron.

Best case, we learned our lesson and won't take any team lightly for the remainder of the playoffs, and come out firing on Tuesday.

I'm just thankful no travel is involved. Early game today, evening off, practice tomorrow, game Tuesday. No travel time needed.

The big meltdown will come simply because they're playing a team that's much BETTER than Atlanta.

Hopefully, it only will last a few minutes. Any good team can shake off some runs by good opponents.

I agree with Particle, road struggles have forced this silly game 7 so in that sense having to go right out on the road may have been a punch in the mouth.

But even at that the Hawks were the team that was dramatically different at home and on the road not Boston. I understand that this is hard for people to accept in sports myopia. But seriously the Hawks scored 81, 77, 85, 65 on the road and 102, 97, 103 at home. I think in some ways that made ATL difficult to prepare from game to game, because not only did they have different guys step up, those same guys would fall apart the next game.

I don't think there is going to be much of an issue about who the defensive focus will be on in this series.

I understand emotional letdowns, but this was not an emotional letdown. This series was a bigger challenge than expected, absolutely. I don't understand in this particular case how we would be emotionally drained playing Cleveland. We were surprised by the Hawk's play, hell yeah, but we are not drained, we are invigorated. Don't feel insulted by the emoticons in my post-reply. I just don't understand in any way shape or form how our team this team could be emotionally drained after one first round 7-game series. We won the series and are emotionally charged after destoying the Hawks in game 7 and are ready for Cleveland.

With that said, I see us winning this series in 6 or 7 games.

Gonzolays, we may disagree on this but we both want #17 raised in the Garden and for that you're my brother.

I think the real question is whether or not LBJ is emotionally spent after crying for 88 straight games.
