One side-effect of not crashing the boards as crazily is that you get back on transition defense. They didn't really have any run-outs on us.

But, of course, you don't want the rebounding disadvantage to be THAT bad.

Kobe was ridiculous. Minus those 3 chucked shots in the 4th, he really played within the team concept.

Considering you're the only one who thinks that, and ten people said "that's a break for the Jazz" when he fouled out...

Boozer was garbage, just like he's been all playoffs. I hope he gets the flu or something before Game 2. Paul will at least compete and not fumble the ball away like a 35 year-old Shawn Kemp after a coke bender.

Kobe took 3 contested jumpers in the 4th.

NEEDS to be smarter. Dribble and pull up for the 15 footer IFFF that is what you are gonna do.

But, frankly, they don't have a real matchup for Kobe in this series.

If the Lakers can clean up the boards they will prob win in 5, if they can't it will go 6 or 7.

P.S. Nice Stat padding layup by Deron Williams.

How about when he starts air-balling jumpers? You can beat him then if Boozer acts like he's not Kevin Duckworth and anyone on the team can buy a shot down the stretch.

Kobe was fantastic for much of the game, and will be for much of the series, but he's not invincible. We were right in this game in the fourth quarter.

unless bynum comes back for game 3 i think this will be a long series.
Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

Can we stop talking about Rockets and their Fans.
They are completely IRRELEVANT for this series...

To quote a line from Nirvana (you remember them...they were actually around when the Rockets were good), I wish I was like you....easily amused.

that's one of the worst parts of this game..

Kobe actually slowed down heavily in the 4th quarter(compared to how well he played in the first 3), and the Jazz couldn't take advantage of it..they also didn't take FULL advantage of when he sat down..I'm pretty sure that was around the time where they cut the lead, but I felt like they could have definitely closed the gap completely if they smartened up..Harpring shooting so much can't be good..

there won't be many moments where Kobe slows down while he's having a great game..

Kobe was in in cruise control... He tested the waters and proved he can do whatever he wants whenever he wants against the Jazz "defense" in the first half, so he he just relaxed in the second half and conserved energy.

The Jazz are a good team so they have the potential to take the Lakers to 6 games.

We also shot atrocious across the board.

We can't expect to outrebound you by 18 every game, and you can't expect us to brick shot after shot after shot that we usually hit, especially down the stretch.

I'll be really surprised if anyone takes this game as a sign that the Lakers are going to coast. However many games this series go, each and every one will be hard-fought.

Once again, good game, LA. See you for Game 2.

We shot 38% and were down 4 near the end.

The Jazz shooting 38% from the field probably had something to do with that.

Whther that is a credit to the Lakers' defense or a knock ont eh Jazz's offense, or a combo of both is another matter.
