lakers play very good defense, just very bad rebounding. If deron williams continue his poor play today and lakers clean up the glass, utah is toast.

Seems as though you were the one who didn't watch the game. Kobe had drives to the basket, and for all you crying about his FT attempts he only had 1 in the 4th.

I remember at around 11-11 FTA, I told everyone to take note of the legitimacy of Kobe's fouls. And nobody said he was getting freebies.

Now, 12 more FTA later, all of a sudden he didn't earn those call? Get out of here.

The thing is that Jazz are not allowed. Kobe shot 23 FT if you didn't noticed.
How the JAzz are hacks, did you really see so many more hacks by Jazz palyers than LA players?
Go watch the tape again, maybe you will stop puling arguments out of ... never mind :noway:

Exactly...go ahead and rewatch the tape and tell me how many of Kobe's FT's were bogus calls - plus a good chunk of those came when the game was over but the Jazz continued to intentionally foul. Besides it's the momentum of basketball games that gets called into question - not just final stats.

Anybody that has Harpring on a team has no business arguing anything about hacking. Ever. He alone voids your argument automatically.

There were some calls I though Kobe got that were ticky tack (his four point play I thought was just a phantom call), but big deal, superstars have been getting those calls since the dawn of time. Deron and Boozer have got those fair share of calls.

^^ The foul was on Harpring off the ball on Walton (who shot the FT) so it was not a 4 point play for Kobe.

When a team lets Okur get 20 rebounds, you know there are some serious issues. I hope Phil lets the players know what a bad job they did on the boards.

Good defense doesn't mean anything if you don't clean up the glass.

this series is going to come down to kobe. If utah can't address this and slow him down, i don't see it going past 5 games.

to the whiners complaining about kobe getting too many fouls called, i have nothing to say except :waaa: :waaa:

Jerry Sloan just said he didnt have a problem with the calls. Yet utah fans throw a fit over it!

Lakers held Utah under 100. That can't be all Utah.

Okur has been a pretty good rebounder lately. But I get your point. Giving up 20 boards to ANY player is too many.

I think the Lakers' defense was excellent today. I know Utah missed some jumpers, but I thought the Lakers didn't allow Utah to establish a rhythm in this game, and that had something to do with it. The rebounding will be a problem for the Lakers for the remainder of the playoffs, but if they keep up their defensive intensity they'll have a chance to win every game.

Maybe some of Kobe's foul calls were should I say... D-Whistlish or LeWhistle-like, but for the most part he just took advantage of dumb Jazz defense.

It's not the refs fault that every Jazz player likes to bite on Kobe's pump-fakes times and time again.

I am pretty sure the foul on the three was off the ball and not on Kobe.

Don't change the subject of our conversation.

It is you who said that Utah is getting away with hacking and I disagreed by saying that the fouls are being called indeed. Hence my mention of Kobe's 23 FTs.
I didn't say anything about him getting BS calls (although he got few ;) if you insist asking)
I actually said in this thread that the officiating was fine with me.

So try to be consistent with what is your point.

Why this thread turned about arguing about fouls?
They had no effect on the outcome of the game.
