West vs Rondo

Post#1 » by Kids Are Alright » Sun May 4, 2008 7:59 pm

Delonte's finally found a good fit, averaging 31 minutes, 10.2 ppg, 5 assists, 50% from three, 38% overall, while managing 2.8 rpg and having about 1.5 to's and steals.

Rajon @ 11.8 ppg, 43% shooting, 7.5 assists, 4.3 rpg, 1.8 steals and 1.2 to's per game.

So, D West has become part of the perimeter attack for the Cav's while Rondo's role is feeding our stars and rebounding.

I see Delonte abusing Rondo some off screens by Z or Wally but Delonte will be too slow to prevent Rajon's penetration.

Rajon will be the better pg, IMO.

Ii'm guessing Pete's gonna agree with me on this one......

Rondo is gonna torch D West but this should be a great storyline.

Rondo will smoke D. West - but in fairness so do almost all NBA PGs. He couldn't beat out the terrible Sonics PGs..

I think just a bad fit at Seattle is all for West.

50% at the three isn't too shabby. I hope he's already peaked. He is about the most streaky shooter in the NBA.

If Rondo stays on Delonte's left hand and make him go right every time, he will cause Delonte and the Cavs a lot of problems.

After seeing Delonte for 3 years in Beantown, I know that Rondo is going to totally abuse him. Delonte has some nice moves, but he will have problems with Rondo's D and his offensive penetration and speed.

And it's not even close. West would make a good backup to Rondo, but it's just two different levels. Rondo easily beat hi and Bassy out of the starting PG spot already in January of last season.

If he's shooting 50% from 3, 38% overall, what must his 2-pt % be? His shooting was his calling card when he started in Boston.

Phil Jackson has won 9 championships with PGs not much better than Delonte.

In the right system, he's useful.

This is gonna be a great match-up, Rondo is obviously more skilled but he can't forget about D-West on defense either or, as we all know, the streaky Delonte will light us up.

I think the match-up to watch in the series is Perkins and Big Z

delonte's pretty similar to bibby except not as good a dribbler, basically just a spot-up shooter. i think rondo can handle him, he just has to stay on delonte's shooting hand. let KG and perk handle lebron's drives.

Just make him go right every time! LOL. He can be trapped very easily, if you push him all the way to the right baseline. I expect LBJ to handle the ball even more than usual with Rondo guarding Delonte. If Rondo sticks with him, he shouldn't present any problems.

I do remember him going off on us in Seattle when we faced them. But in the game against Cleveland, he looked really bad.

Rondo is going to show Delonte how a real PG plays the game. No way Delonte stays with Rondo, and for those saying he can't forget about West, remember, Rondo is a pretty good defensive player.

Rondo will eat him alive. He's too long, too quick, too athletic in general for Redz. Plus while CLE has good bigs none (even Wallace) are the kind of shotblocker Smith was. Rondo will be living in the paint. West and Boobie will get some open shots because Rondo gets overaggressive at times but on the whole the team as a whole should defend the 3 well, like we did all year.
