Seems like it around here. Though Boston fans don't think so.

Read the general board, everyone is pulling for us. Let's make them happy.

Guys, I really don't know how to feel about our team being "America's Team", because we had to sit through the misery year after year of losing and sitting there while America called our team a joke, now they want to take our team and call it they're team as well?

I don't think we're America's Team (not even for 1 game), but a good portion of America does seem to be against Boston (backlash for Red Sox, Pats, and the media shoving the Big 3 down their throats) and will rally behind whomever has a chance to knock them off. I think a lot of people liked the idea of a Boston resurgence prior to the season, but after having ESPN force feed it all throughout the season it wore out.

I might have supported them if they weren't playing the Hawks, but that's changed now for me. The tipping point for me was their players behavior in games 1 and 2 (and later). They weren't content with winning the games, they tried to intimidate our players in a variety of ways and it cost them a lot of respect in my eyes.

Not only America's Team ... I think the whole world is rooting for Atlanta. On our boards except the Celtics fans everybody is for this 7th Game a Hawks fan.

Really? ESPN has a crush on whoever is winning. I can still remember the time when you needed to do a deep search within espn.com to even find the word "Boston". (For that reason, I stopped reading that website altogether.) Today it's Boston, tomorrow it will be Chicago, and the day after it will be Atlanta.

It's not Boston's fault that ESPN sucks mega-balls.

Well, the short run was fun while it lasted, but now it's going to take much more before we ever become American's team. It's now time to focus on the off season and figure out how we can become a .500 team.

I disagree with that. ESPN is in New England so naturally they are going to cover more sports in that area. The C's sucked last year but tanking was such a big story, this season tanking wasn't even mentioned while the Heat pulled off perhaps the biggest instance of tanking in the history of the NBA.

But yeah, it's not Boston's fault that ESPN is terrible.

Maybe that's why the Celtics' fans were cheering "USA!" when Zaza was at the free throw line...

Return to Atlanta Hawks
