wtf Spurs, you can do this! Destroy the Hornets! Bowen needs to bang up Paul more just like he did Nash.

I wonder what you thought about Hornets and if you still think this is an easy match up for Spurs?

Spurs will adjust, the adjustments will be painfull. TD guarding West, Bowen on Peja and free reign for CP?

This will be a fun series, like a chess match. Yes, Hornets are that good you have not been paying attention.

I haven't seen anything that has made me change my mind about the series. It's not that I'm unwilling to do so, it's just that we've only seen 1 game.

I thought that was probably the worst 2nd round playoff game I've seen the Spurs play since games 3 and 4 vs. Seattle in 2005. Normally they lay a huge egg in game 1 in the first round. Obviously they didn't this year and waited until Saturday night to do so.

I will say this, if the Hornets can hold Duncan to 5 pts/gm for the entire series then they'll win.

One last thing, that was by far and I can't emphasize this enough the absolute worst atmosphere I have ever seen in the playoffs, ever! I've been to Jr. High games that were louder. The Hornets fans should be embarrassed.

New Orleans were bad at the all-star game, too...

They actually booed Julius Irving because he had somewhat of a longer response about the dunk contest than the other judges

Just ridiculous, and didn't make enough noise numerous times during the weekend.

Just not that much of a basketball town... like a New York, Sacramento, San Antonio, Oakland, Chicago, Boston, Portland.

An expected first game loss. Pop would have sussed out their game plan and will adjust in game 2. TD won't be that bad again. I expect a win in game 2.

If NO wins game 2, they'll be 60-40 favorites to take the series. If we win, we'll be 75-25 favorites. So this is the most important game of the series, especially for the Hornets.

I think the Hornets lack of atmosphere somewhat negates the HCA, which should make a win tonight just > < much easier.

I think we have to put Bowen more onto Peja... he should get bothered by him on the perimeter and more limited.

I really think we can tie it up at home, but I'll admit at this point (and probably stays), I underestimated the Hornets too much.

If we lose this series, I quite look foward to the off-season.

First order of business for Pop is to take Manu behind the Arena and just kick his behind. This guy should be winning the game for Spurs not giving it away.

I am shocked at Ginobli's stupidity and lack of discipline. How can he be so out of control.

Bowen slows CP, still it is not enough to justify giving Peja a field day. Parker needs to man up and try and slow Paul, he is a liability guarding anyone else.

Finley is over the hill, I feel bad for him but he brings nothing to these Spurs.

But Manu, he looks like a rookie out there

that's Manu..

like I've said many times, the only way you can enjoy Ginobili is to accept that he's going to have MANY games where he's out of control and erratic..it has been this way for the majority of these playoffs so far, and it was similar in last years playoffs..

Sorry, but this year is not the year of SA. This year has been crazy, with lots of surprises and semi-surprises. No way that SA gets to the finals this year, that would be too common.
Hornets will beat the Spurs in 5!

Game 1 - Hornets win by 10-15 points
Game 2 - Hornets win by 1-4 points
Game 3 - Spurs win by 9-12 points
Game 4 - Hornets win by 5-8 points
Game 5 - Hornets win by 6-10 points

I really thought game 2 was gonna be close... :D So far so good.
Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we are here we might as well dance!

Manu and Duncan have to step up their game... I hope the Spurs figure it out because it'd be embarrasing for both the Spurs and Suns if you guys lose this series. I think it's just your offense thats really lacking right now, it seems that you guys have to do what you did to the suns back in Nash first year.. outrun the runners.

Best of luck Spurs, you guys are my third favorite team.

I would hate to see the Spurs lose the series, but in the event that they do. Go down fighting.

NO is one tough cookie. But their play is not the sole reason for their 2-0 lead, we've been playing badly ourselves.

This will end in 6 or 7, but we are definitely not the favorites at this point. We must get both games at home if we're to stand a chance.

I'll tell you this much, though: If we were going to lose to someone in this year's West, I'd rather we lost to New Orleans. They are a joy to watch. If they get past us, I'll be rooting for them all the way.

Not yet time to freak out, we still have what it takes to win this series. We just need to get Duncan healtht again, he was obviously still a bit out of it from that virus he had. Manu as well just didn't look like himself. Actually nor did any of our players lol. Hopefully some home cooking will wake them up. Let's go spurs! In the event we do lose , i'd rather lose to NO than the Lakers or Celtics. Paul is my favourite non-Spur.

when this statement was made, i thought it was a little bit of an exaggeration even though i respect your opinion, but then they said on tnt the last time the spurs were down 0-2 in a series was against the LA Lakers in '01 in the WCF, and ironically that was against prime shaq. So i guess this was a correct statement and it was a lot of merit, so good job on calling it.

I just want to understand, what is cp3 doing that is hurting the spurs so much, is it the fact that he is getting in the paint b/c no one is fast enough to keep him on the perimeter?

thx
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Paul just rips us apart. he scores at will and when he's not scoring he's dishing to open looks for Peja/West etc. We've got some work to do.

Our defense has been porous. Whether it's CP, Peja, or Peterson somebody seems to be getting open on every offensive possession and they are making us pay for it each time. CP and Parker are both dangerous when they begin to drive, however with Parker 95% of the time he is putting up the shot. With CP, there's a 50% chance he's putting up the shot and a 50% chance he's looking to create for a teammate. THAT is dangerous. We need to keep CP to the perimeter.
